its a flop here...pretty much, 4 got a 10....if this gets an less than a 10, i can see the boards flaming for weeks

It wont get anything less than real high scores from all major magazines and websites. Even if its mediocre no major publisher would dare say otherwise because they fear missing out on advertising dollars.
Im not ripping on GTA at all, Im just say anyone who makes money with game advertising will never say a big profile AAA game is mediocre even if it is because magazines and websites are in business to make money and they make the majority of their money through advertising. So they wouldnt ever want to piss off something as huge as GTA because its a juggernaut when it comes to paying for advertising.
Not to mention they dont want to piss off their audience either and GTA is something of a legend and held in the highest regards by millions of hardcore fans. Ive never met a GTA fan who could even fathom how I dont think the games are sent from heaven by god himself.
Thats why you never see big publications rip on big AAA titles with lots of advertising, they at most will take a few pokes but they will retract those right afterwards. The only exception is when everyone else is ripping a game apart, then they will jump on that bandwagon as well.
Thats why such a great magazine as this one is gone now. They didnt hold back and told stuff how they wanted and thought. But ultimately they went bankrupt because the big boys like EA pulled funding when they tore apart that god awful mess of ultima 9 when it was released.
Why anyone would put stock in a review score written by people who get directly paid by the game makers is beyond me. Edge is one of the few remaining actual good sources for reviews.
