i never understood this argument...its not about us at all, if it was why would we be looking at other peoples ratings? no1 said flop = bad game...its SW the whooole point of this place revolves around hyping and flopping...if u dont like the fact that people overhype games and then are told they are owned and laughed at b/c the game didnt score as high as they thought it did..then why r u here...cant be for logic, or reasonable debate....cause none of that exists

the better the series, the higher the hype. while zelda got an 8.8, it's still a very good score and is closer to what it was hyped to be than many other games which were not.

wow I'm not sure where you guys are reading all this 'hype' for KZ2, but you may want to step back and notice that a good 60-70% of KZ2 based threads are started by lemmings and are bash threads. There have been maybe 1-2 KZ2 might not suck threads on a given day, and they are usually either cautiously optimistic or rediculously overblow 'it will ownzors' thread posted by a new account. In either case that dosn't count as hype.

please stop fabricating hype in a game just to bash cows over it when it is released... but I guess sony has it comming by not releasing any big titles for lemmings to bash in the next 3 months.

PS The biggest flop would be either mass effect or halo 3 if either didn't get the pendant all lemmings would feel the brunt of that forever.

They are just going by the hype. They just see it as below hype regardless of how much did it mis by. It's kind of like Fable, it got an 8.6 but the hype was insance so it was considered one of the biggest flops and TP's hype was at least 3 times that. The fact that since before TP was even shown and was thought to be WW2 the game was hyped to be GOTY and beat out anything else. Then when they showed TP the hype was about 20X more and the forums got flooded since it was shown till it was released with predictions of 9.5+ and AAAA hype. Even after GS priviewed it and basicly said they were not impressed and Gears got a 9.6, all you would hear is that GS was just full of it on the preview in they will give it a higher score than Gears and GOTY. Remember when Jeff said that Gears is the game to get for the hollidays? All you would hear is that he is wrong and that he will give TP a higher score. Just look at when Fable flopped this place went insance with damage control, when TP flopped there was mass forum suicides.

What I don't understand is suddenly out of nowhere they are hyping KillZone 2 when they were quite for so long. What has changed......the fact that it's a $20 million dollar budget?

Should have waited for E3 before hyping it as the greatest game ever made. The only game the has been hyped this much is Halo 3 lol.

Things to remember, not only are Sony fan boys hyping Killzone 2, but xbox and wii guys are. Many 360 owners have already said that if this game does own they are buying a PS3 for it.

Personally,I doubt the graphics will look worse then Halo 3, but it wouldn't hurt me if they did, if they could pull off insane epic battles.

The first Killzone may have floped score wise, but it still sold 4 million or so copies. Its hero's and enemies are almost starwars worthy as far as epic battles are concerned.

Certainly won't be a flop for me, since it was never more than AA in my head... Who can say a game will be AAA with a prerendered 2-3 years old movie... Seriously, I think people get too excited too fast. Wait, see what the game has to offer (not only an old PR movie) and they hype it from what you saw. Cows will certainly lookstupide whenit'll scoresomething like"8.7" here on gamespot, (that's where I hype it for now... (subject to change)). I wish it'll do better but... I'm not sure gamespot will spare a 9.0+ on that game... since they are Bias.

Hype for KZ2 spiked during E3 2K5, but the game fell off the radar for almost 2 years after that. KZ1 was a 6.9 here. No one on system wars is hyping this game as a "Halo Killer" this time around. BTW, I think the whole "(Insert Game) Killer" term is retarded. How do you "KILL" another game by making a a similar game? I think that KZ2 getting AA will be an improvement and a step in the right direction for Sony and Guerilla(the psp kz game was also good). This could be a big financial flop if the game doesn't turn out to be great. Isn't KZ2 one of their big budget games?

The killzone 2 hype we see now is no where near the hype TP had. Even the fanboys on other consoles respected this title. I remember users claiming it would recieve a 10 and surpass the gears of war 9.6 and become goty.
