microsoft fixes it for free if it does, so you'll get another 360 after u send urs in and they will give u a month of xbl and they pay for shipping, microsoft's customer service is one of the best i've dealt with...

Wait a second there lemmings. PS3 has more a lot more shooters than 360. All it doesn't have is Gears and Halo3..... and the TC said he didn't like Halo anyways. It has the multiplats (GRAW2, CoD4, Timeshift, Vegas, and most any future shooter) AND it has Resistance, Warhawk, SOCOM, Haze, UT3 (sooner and better), Killzone2.

It's funny people retain the impression that 360 has more shooters because it does not anymore. Prettymuch down to Halo3 and Gears as exclusives anymore. PS3 is really the console of choice if you can live without Halo.

November is just the beginning of PS3 shooters releasing. Halo was like the 360s best and that's already out and you don't seem to like it much. The PS3 is getting CoD4 (devs promised a little PS3 love :P Plus, some people say it looks better on the PS3) which isn't a port, HAZE, Killzone 2 (just cause the first sucked doesn't mean the second will) and a lot more others. If you also like 3rd person shooters, look for SOCOM: Confrontation which is going to come out early 08 or so. It's the best game ever if you ask me (I loved SOCOM II on the PS2). There's also Resistance which is really good and has a huge amount of players still playing and patches + map packs every now and then. The Rainbow Six community isn't dead either. Anyway, there's a lot of shooters on the PS3. It also depends on your controller preference. I prefer the PS3 controller mainly because I've been using it so much that I'm used to it. Dualshock 3 is also coming out soon. 360 is just getting it's HDMI so there might be a chance you won't be getting that. You might also get one, or more likely get one with a 90nm processor which will give you a 33% chance of getting the RROD. The PS3 also just released a year ago. It still has alot more years than the 360 and the hardware can last. Also, PSN is child free, and free from fees :P

Anyway, whatever, it's up to you. I'd say, get a PS3 cause it's just now starting to get all its good titles out.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Warhawk.

Well thats always nice to hear. Anyway after I made this thread I did a bit more looking into which shooters are currently out for each system or coming very soon that seem fun...and well 360 seems to have a few that PS3 don't have :(

I also found Socom to be a very fun game but I wasn't sure on the release date. Same thing with Killzone 2. I'm sure I will end up owning both systems by the end of the generation but only got money for one right now :(

I prefer my ps3 to my 360 in general

Id give the 360 controller the edge for shooters

ps3's wireless network adapter works well and really gives me the freedom to play online away from my router

If you arent enamored with halo, Id say its a push for games; 360 is ahead on shooter now, but after KZone2 and UT3 come out next Q1 ps3 will be formidable

if you want a games machine with great online + community get the 360

Get the 360 if you want to play games. The360 has a much larger and diverse library. While the ps3, as others have pointed out, is largly shooter based. You can't even count ps2 games with the 40gb as Sony dropped B/C for it.
