Much like the people hated on MW2 prior to release, then it came out and it turned out to be one of the most adrenaline-pumped and entertaining game in the world. Much like people didn't expect Black Ops to even contend with the rest of the FPS (like Halo: Reach), it came out, revolutionized the CoD franchise, and is now the top played game in the world. Exactly this is what happens in 2011. So many people doubting MW3's potential. So many people hyping up BF3 as the CoD killer. Or Crysis 2, or Rage. You name it. All flopped horribly. This leaves us with Modern Warfare 3--a game with not so impressive technique, but all focus on the gameplay, the most important part of a game. I like it how everyone hates on CoD prior to release because it's too popular, they know it's going to sell so they try to be unique. But as the game release comes close and the game is released, they are: "eh, whatever, let's go with the flow, they can't be wrong!". Oh, history has been repeated, and once November 8 hits us, the earth will once again tremble!GTAV2012

I know this is sarcasm, but MW2 was just plain bad. Terrible campaign and unbalanced twitch fest mp. It is a shame really, as the controls for the game are ace.

BF3 is definitely winning against blops and MW2 from my experience. It handles almost everything better, looks FAR FAR better and is a hell of a lot of fun. The vehicles are a blast, the maps are excellent and you're not cramped into small corridors nearly as often. This equals a winner for me!

To each his own and I'm sure that there are tons of people wanting MW3, but to me BF3 is definitely a good experience (I'm speaking strictly for multiplayer obviously).

See, there's the problem. You can talk of objective quality, but when you do you find that there are areas that some shooters do better than COD, and vice versa. Sure, you can toss around scores, but that's useless because a score is only a thesis.

No way. CoD4 was pretty fun but MW2 was absolute trash. Battlefield is different than all other FPS and cannot really be compared, but here is my top five FPS series, keeping in mind old ones have aged badly.

Battlefield > Timesplitters > Counterstrike > Halo > Perfect Dark 64 (aged poorly in terms of framerate and controls, unfortunately)

There saying they have added all this new stuff but all its just the same crap with a different name, just look at the proficiencies there all just perks that were already in the game and have just been moved around so they appear new. As much as I whine and moan about Activision milking COD, I have to admit they're pretty much untouchable when it comes to military FPS. They offer a very compelling package if you're into that sort of thing-- local multiplayer, no online passes, lots of modes, etc. I may not have the fondest feelings for the series, but there are some pretty good reasons why EA cannot topple it, and EA is directly responsible for most of those reasons. If I want to paly a game with my friends when they visit, am I going to buy the game that has tons of local co-op and competetive modes, or the one that can only be played online? EA can act like online and online passes are the future as much as they want, but that won't change the fact that they are going to keep getting outsold by the game that still has local play and none of this online pass / origin BS.
