So is Final Fantasy XIII the worst FF game?

I just wish it had the option to add *** audio with subs :S The few games I have that allow me to do it, I love it ^^ toxicmog

Depends I guess. I dont mind linear maps. I actually perfer them over huge ones since it makes it less of a headace for me. I dont care for towns in jrpgs at all now. I dont care if I can talk to a npc that says "i hate mondays" I just dont. I also never cared for side mini games in ff. Im fine with sidequest. If anything this one seems to evole with my taste. So hell I can see this being one of my favorites. In the end one of the major important parts in a ff for me is the combat.

TC you seem to be forgetting FFXI and FFIX exist, although FFIX got an 8.5 as well, I think. And even so since when is an 8.5 bad? Its not the end of the world that FF13 didn't get an AAA score, just buy the game, enjoy it and get the **** over the score. That's what I'm going to do (except I never cared about it getting an 8.5).

FFXII's story just failed to suck me in the way other FFs have.

I found IX okay, but still don't really get why there's such a lovefest for it. Although my IX experience was soured by a malfunctioning disc.

VI, VII and X are still my favorites, in no particular order. I have a feeling XIII will join them when I play it.

Dude, how can you even ask that?... FF X-2 deserved a 5 or less. So no, not even close.

I like the fact that Final Fantasy XIII is linear the first half, so I can get used to the game and then start exploring instead of getting lost "down there in that dungeon!(KH pun)", although vanille can get annoying, I won't care for it that much, as Lightning will probably just hit her in the face after a while.

Its not the worst its just that reviewers are comparing JRPGs to WRPGs these days and always counting JRPGs linearity as a bad point while all JRPGs were linear since this genre started ==; and thats how the fans like it its like comparing FPS games to 3rd person shooters and saying that not being able to see your player in FPS games is a bad point (I know a very bad example lol).

It's like saying that RE4 sucks because it's more linear than the earlier RE games. Except that it actually is more linear, while FFXIII isn't that much more linear than the original games.
