goldeneye on wii it got an 81 and on hdtwins it got a 72

hotd overkill got a 78 on wii and a 75 on ps3

no more heroes got a 83 on wii and a 72 on ps3

dead space extraction somehow got an 83 on wii and isnt even a full fledged game on ps3....

seriously i hope that wii u is far superior

my source is metacritic.com and also all of the games mentioned above not only have better graphics but additions to the game with the exxceptaion of dead space extraction

Second off, I mentioned that the HD versions had a flaw the Wii version didn't have, that being: on-disc DLC.

I am pretty sure that if the Wii had lower standards Xenoblade would not have gotten a spot over all the AAA PS3 exclusives got in the GOTY nominations.

I don't know what your problem is, but the two NMH games are great, I don't regret buying them at all.

Both of those games are pretty good actually, and the games industry already has a pretty skewed rating system so its not "lower standards" just because you don't like it and its 81. That's the sort of argument an elitist makes so he can feel better about himself, and its pretty dumb.

Those games would be just as fun on PS3, maybe looked down upon for their graphics, but otherwise still fun. CoD4 on the Wii got roasted for being inferior to the PC and big boy console versions (supporting less players and not being nearly as pretty or easy to control), so standards might be a bit different in terms of graphical fidelity, but I think the gameplay is what most people judge games on anywas in reviews.

couldn't the lateness of the HD release affect it too? Just look at the scores of 1st year 360 games compare to what we have now and tell me that standards aren't changing. Also there's just the fact that it isn't as fresh anymore. What you need in order to prove your point is a game that gets released on an HD console first and is later ported to the wii, getting a higher score on the wii. Any changes or improvements would have to be taken into account as well.

Visuals are the only things that are superior...if that's your thing, then i guess you could say the PS3 are the superior versions.

I believe that what we are seeing is the FAWG factor. It seems that this tends to result in a slightly higher score than the game would have gotten on pretty much any other platform because it just wouldn't be fair to rate it on the same level.

I thought GoldenEye sucked but No More Heroes was a great game, I don't know why the PS3 version got lower reviews, maybe the PS3 version just wasn't as good.

I think that has something to do with the fact that those games were quite old by the time they were remade on PS3/360 and hadn't been improved much. Remakes are never going to score as well as the originals, at least they shouldn't. meetroid8

IDK what about something like REmake? That was a true remake, actually changing many things while keeping the core elements intact.

Comparing Metacritic scores isn't a good idea, as they have different reviewers. Like Nintendo magazine might review the Wii version giving it a 10, but the PS3 magazine only gives the PS3 version a 7 or whatever, different reviewers. Even when comparing Gamespot reviews they are sometimes different reviewers so they can't always be directly compared.

I take it as proof that games designed for wii do not port that well because of the lack of controll options.

Yep. Sheep standards are really really really low if you ask me.

Or it's just that these games were already out and just rereleased on the HD consoles and that's why their scores are lower. Take Mass Effect 2 for example. It came out on 360 first and has a 95.66 yet the PS3 version has 93.17. This doesn't mean the PS3 has higher standards.
