Nah, Im a bioware fan, and it was well done. But, the ending just didn't feel like it accomplished all that much. It definetly was an major improvement over the first one though.
I didn't like the game.
I have no clue where you people are pulling words like flawless from.
It was just so boring. Go to this planet, find another squad mate, repeat until you get all of them and then finish the rest of the game in 3 hours.
Characters were annoying and I couldn't care less for any of them.
It wasn't a bad game, just no way was it AAA worthy. 7.5 in my eyes.
It's the best game I have ever played, so yes, it is.

I started gaming in the 90's, and ME2 is easily one of the best games i've played. If that's his genuine opinion, I can respect that. Some people consider Madden the best game ever made every year when it comes out, and I say fine. But it's unrealistic to expect that such minority opinions won't be called into question.it is safe to say that is your opinion. that is as far as I will commit.Well, I've played a lot of amazing games this year so far. I must say, though Heavy Rain, GoW 3, and FF13 were AMAZING, Mass Effect 2 had the most compelling impact on me. I mean, everything abou that game was almost flawless.....
Agree, disagree?

I enjoyed Heavy Rain more. ME2 was a stellar game, but HR just did for me is all.

True, Heavy Rain was VERY gripping. Everything was just so dramatic and well done. If it wasn't soo short (mainly because I couldn't put it down), then I'd say it's my goty up to this point.
[QUOTE="Wings_008"]i haven't played ME2 just yet (i bought it online and it's on way) but ME was amazing to say the least and it won't be an exaggeration to say that it is the best game so far in this year and it's hell of a lot better than GOW3 imojalexbrownIf you can look over the massive amount of glitches, Mako portions, shallow RPG elements, and likewise shallow TPS elements, then yes...Mass Effect was "amazing". okay so there is a fair amount of glitches not ''massive'', and yes the mako portions were boring, but does this make it a bad game all around?, i thought when you measure the quality of something you should take into consideration both the pro and cons, bot just some shortcoming, and explain this ''shallow TPS elements'' to me
Been going on since last night I think. What happened last night? I've been traveling all week(YAY!) So I haven't had much time to check in here (yay)... Nothing, just a random thread popped up and here we are. It's the same thing you see with Halo 3 or MGS4. Out of no where one person starts a thread then more pop up.[QUOTE="Chutebox"][QUOTE="heretrix"]
What's with all of the ME 2 threads today? Didn't it come out in January?

Those two elements together along with the AWESOME dialog system puts ME 2 over the top. It's the combination of it's separate elements working well together that make the game enjoyable. Focusing on one thing and complaining about it is just silly especially when the thing you are complaining about doesn't need to be complex to begin with.
Shallow TPS? 3rd person shooters are basically shallow anyway, so adding a dialog and leveling system with rpg lite elements make it more complex. That complaint is completely invalid.

No, it's not completely invalid. Having aiming assistance that uses arbitrary numbers just to add RPG elements does make it more shallow than a better third-person shooter. Aside from the dialog trees, did the game in any real way benefit from having RPG elements? No. It would have been better as a focused, polished third-person shooter that just happened to have dialog trees and side-quests.As much as I loved ME 2, I'd have to say that Heavy Rain, AS A GAME, was more compelling to me. While it didn't change my mind about QTE's (I still hate them) It actually made them more playable. I actually had fun doing some of them, while others made me want to punch David Cage in the face (the butterfly trial). All in all though they were well done and made total sense when they came up (which was every minute or so, lol) I hesitate to even call them QTE's because they were implemented into the gameplay so well.
so it seems people have already forgotten bayonetta. maybe it was too awesome and your memories selectively deleted it for your own protection or something.
Bsyonetta wasn't compelling at all. It was a fantastic game, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it compelling.so it seems people have already forgotten bayonetta. maybe it was too awesome and your memories selectively deleted it for your own protection or something.

I have to say GOW3,ME2 and Heavy Rain are pretty much the best i've played so far this year.FFXIII was really disappointing.
Yes, but this is considering that my PS3 broke.
So, that is the only story based game I have been able to play. :|
It's no longer safe to say the Mass Effect is Game of the Year.
Heavy Rain has a bigger chance at getting the title.
Considering Gamespot's preference of new IPs over existing properties...yeah, I'd say Heavy Rain has about as good of a chance as Mass Effect 2.It's no longer safe to say the Mass Effect is Game of the Year.

I think it'll have a better chance because Heavy Rain has more than one ending (a lot more than 2 or 3.), a New Motion type of gameplay, Facial Expression and movement close to actual human expressions and movement.
Yes, easily. And it's not even close. I've played the others, GOW3, Bayonetta, Heavy Rain, and ME2 is by far the best.

Look at IGN's second opinions. ME2 is universally hailed, Heavy Rain, not so much. Not everyone was giving GOW3 the best game of the year credit as well.[QUOTE="yokofox33"]

haha, no so many plot holes and logic problems....gamesradar even made a list of themWhile FFXIII isn't great itisn't the worst main stream FF title FF 3 (DS remake and original, FF5 are). FFII and III are actually underrated, they are not bad, just not the best the series has to offer. FFV is pretty great, just not as great as IV and VI.[QUOTE="texasgoldrush"]Heavy Rain sucks..........at first glance, yeah it looks great. Then you see all the plot holes and logic problems in the plot, especially with that god awful plot twist. if the game was a movie, it would have been laughed out of the film festival. Add terrible voice acting into the mix. FFXIII is the worst FF main series game and does not deserve to even be said in the same sentence as ME2 God of War III is all style no substance, meaning no GOTY. Really it will be between ME2, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout New Vegas. Last Guardian, and Alan Wake.jasonharris48
I am a little behind on my games so I have only played a few titles released in 2010 so I won't say definite yes or no. Me2 was great but nowhere near flawless. The pacing of the story was too slow and the level design was immersion breaking (chest high walls anyone).
[QUOTE="farrell2k"]Or people with different opinions. Surprised to see people can't grasp that yet. I gotta ask: I've played Heavy Rain for half an hour or so (and then put it aside for Uncharted 2), does it ever pick up? I mean really loved fahrenheit/indigo prophecy but I can't seem to get into Heavy Rain atm.I can't believe all the Heavy Rain > ME2 comments. Wow. Heavy Rain is just so mediocre. Maybe it's just the PS3 fanboy urges making their way out.
