I dont get this narrative of movie game. Im already 45 hours in GOW:R and hasnt even beaten the game. Surely this game doesnt have 45 hours cutscene?

@Sagemode87: omg the butt hurt flowing from you is too funny 😁 keep it up.
Nothing wrong with movie games my friend. Absolutely nothing. I have enjoyed a bunch of movie games over the years and still do.

I pick my arguments and actually defend them instead of trolling, doesn't mean I'm "butthurt". This term is asanine, we're calling 100 hour open world games movie games now? I know first hand the games with that label here are some of the best in the industry, the problem is the term is being comically misused here. By your logic, only games where you create a character and enter a game with no story aren't movie games aka Skyrim and Bloodborne. You really dying on this hill?
@Sagemode87: RPG games were always destined to become movie games from the start, this was inevitable. People are more upset with how hollywood its become, but doesnt take away that many of these are great games.
There are games that aren't movie games, but most of them are very simplistic in nature. Most fighting games, a bunch of Nintendo games, fps games, sports games, racing games, most indie games like hades, subnautica, vampire survivors etc. These are very pure games, game games.
@HalcyonScarlet: God of war is a game that's too high end for the Xbox. You will never have these kind of experiences on your system.
Noticing that RDR series has plenty of "hand holding" and "cinematic moments". Is RDR a movie game as well. Fanboys seem to have no issue with narrative driven games as long as it's not made by a Sony dev. Did I tell a lie? So define what a movie game is?
Nope. Try again.

I know we disagree a lot but thanks for actually trying to articulate your point unlike that troll Pedro. Wouldn't it make more sense to classify the games that AREN'T a movie game since what you described is the majority of AAA games today?

yup they do im 135 hours of hfw2 yet its a movie game.
xbox fans watch 100 hours movies because they watch ps exclusive on utube wishing xbox had it. xbox fans rather watch there game on utube yet say sony game suck and are movie games.

I'm DABEAR, b***h! I was gaming when you were in diapers! LOL
So yes, it is because I said so - just like Stone Cold.
You seem to keep being all butthurt over Sony movie-games. If you don't like movie-games, stop playing them. But, don't bring every other game into the movie-game category just to make yourself feel better.
You remind me of the cows of the PS3 era, talking about "Well, I want a blu-ray player, I want wireless controllers, I want blah blah blah" to try and end-a-round justify why the PS3 cost so much more than the 360. It's sad and it's weak, bro - move on.

But RDR2 shares traits with many of the so called "movie games". Asking for consistency is being "butthurt". I know this place is just a place to pass time and troll for most of you but just saying things to say them is boring lmao.
and having no game of the year nomination is eating at xbox fans lmao.
Are you, leveraging your gaming experience on what games get nominated for game of the year?🤣 It is also funny seeing you avoid the fact that the same game of the year title you fools praise went to a multi-platform game that is available on the Xbox.😂
@gifford38: RDR2 and HFW are both movie games. Nothing wrong with it, not sure why you cows let it get to you.
again how many 130 hour movie do you watch?
What does length have to do with it being a cinematic game?
movies are 2 hours long to 4 hours long.
yes cinematic game not movie game. movie game goes space ace or dragon lair or beyond to souls.
better then story the more you bond with the characters.

yup it was well deserved. i not into elder ring but i still think it should of won.
hoping fable wins or nominated if xbox makes it right.
why wasnt grounded in there?
Guess I'm the only one who never likes using that term? I'm more used to saying cinematic-driven games.
Well, folks use the term because it triggers Sony fannies/feel it captures the essence of the game. Even though I am explicitly stating this, they will still be triggered by its usage.🤷🏽♂️
Either way, any game that priorities non-interactive/shallow interactivity to actual gameplay can burn in hell.

Beyond two souls is like a 10-12 hour game, so is something like Detroit: become human, what 12 hour movies are you watching? Your own criteria falls apart under scrutiny. HFW, TLOU, TW3, MGS, RDR2, Hellblade etc... All movie games.

It's the weakest form of trolling from fanboys of inferior platforms. It's almost always an indicator to never buy the systems they own

omg meaning it stays like a movie until the end of the game.
if so witcher 3, ass creed, and more are movies games to i guess.
so is halo now right.

Literally included The Witcher 3 (TW3) in my post. Your criteria is nonsense.

Yes. Not a single MS game throughout this whole generation will gain as much attention and awards as Ragnarok. Pretty sad.

Cool, you cows and the casuals can keep "watching", the rest of us will keep "playing".

Oh the basement dweller is back. Dude, no one cares like you think. Just here to set the record straight on misusing a term. You can call them movie games all you want. By your logic only Elder Scroll types fits the bill, no thanks. Nice to know it's your life mission to "trigger" people you've never met. You're winning at life.

And they'll still damage control for a creatively bankrupt company, pathetic.

yes my friend, even though we are both enemies, you a cow me a lem and we will never see eye to eye on most things, we can still agree on some things like movie games. To hate on the entire segment, its just pathetic and even hypocritical. But whatever, even i've used it to bash the cows, and will probably still do so in the future lol. Doesn't change the fact that Ive enjoyed plenty of movie games like uncharted, spiderman and miles morales, persona, the last of us, starwars fallen order, cyberpunk, call of duty (campaigns), resident evil, plague tale etc etc. Heck even Halo Infinite had a bunch of cinematic sequences (blasphemy) this time around, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Personally I feel that most games are regular games. They're easier to make, and much smaller scale. The movie games are usually high production and high cost. So its still easier to call it movie game :D

Why would we "damage control" for Sony? :-S
