slow installs~ Sure, but you can start a game before they are even done... BF was at 14%, nfs was at 7%, dr3 was at 30% when i notice there was a option.

friends/followers, Well instead of doing friend request you just follow someone and if they follow you they becomes friends. You still have your friend list + you have followers. Whats wrong with them trying let you connect to more people?

holy sh%t i dont understand how you are not getting this, if i turn the volume down it effects the volume of alarm and ringtone, if i forget to turn the volume back up after watching a vid my alarm/ringtone will be lower volume than usual. that is a problem

So you are gong by a video and not actually using it. Well informed you are. I wouldn't be so irresponsible as to say the PS4 UI sucks because I haven't used it, but I can say the X1 works well with or without Kinect and I am well informed since I own the console.

@k2theswiss: they are changing things just for the sake of change, all they had to do was implement x360 dashboard to x1 but no they had to fill the whole damn screen with those green titles. when the kinckless sku comes out next year they will need to refresh the whole dashboard. m$ stupidity is costing them just like sony last gen

They are very similarly cluttered messes with missing features. They will be very different looking in a year or two and everybody who bought one right now is essentially beta testing it for people who will buy these products down the road. The main thing they need to do at this point is play games. The rest of the features will come and there isn't much point in arguing these minute details right now.

The X1 UI will definitely change. Look at the shit the 360 was when it first launched compared to now. Sony will copy whatever innovations MS adds. Thats their move.

even if they sold a kinect less sku, how would all the lems look stupid? i would of picked up the kinect still if they sold a kinectless also on day one. Why? because kinect WORKS!, kinect does stuff that would be harder with the controller or more interactive.

@k2theswiss: it would matter because m$ would drop support for kinect in the future or wont support it like they are now. once the kinectless sky arrives no 3rd party game will feature such useless gimmicks. there is nothing innovative about voice controls i can do that crap on ps4 even using the headset.

PS4's UI is slick, fast, and simple. Makes it easy to use and get to things quickly. X1's has TV and other crap going on. PS4 downloads many games at once, while X1 only downloads 1 game at a time.

PS4 allows you to upgrade the HDD to 2TB HDD internal. X1 doesn't allow for any upgrading of the internal HDD. X1's controllers, all xbox controllers have buttons that are rounded and hurt your thumb over time of playing a game, especially fighter and button mashers. PS4's buttons are flat and never hurt my thumb. PS4s controllers come built in rechargable also.

The best console for playing games is the PS4. When you look at which is best at playing games and put the TV BS and other stuff aside, it's the PS4.

Blu ray? Thats it? Pretty irrelevant since everything is moving towards digital. Better thank MS for Netflix, Achievements, party chat, online multiplayer on consoles, injecting new life into indie devs and a whole lot more that they added to the industry last gen. downloading multiple games at once is not a good thing. Takes longer for one game to download. Kinect makes switching between apps faster than the PS4. X1 will allow external HDD support and intelligently manages your memory which is better than having to switch out your HDD when its full. Your buttons argument is stupid. If the best console for playing games is PS4 then why doesn't it have any?

After using my SO4 for a week and a half, and my X1 for 4 days i can easily say the X1 is much better. I walk into the man cave and say xbox on and boom tv and xbox turns on. I say xbox go to friends, use my hands to select friends and invite to party say xbox launch (insert game here) and it sends my friends invites to the game automatically and launched the game. all w/o me every picking up a remote, a controller, or a disc. Truly amazing.

w/o kinect it still works fine as well, but the point is everyone has kinect so who cares how it works w/o it? Install times appear faster on my X1 then my PS4 as are download times (this is from digital store, I haven't purchased a disc game for either system) Also you don't need kinect to edit captured videos? ot sure where that comment comes from, and whats wrong with the friends system? i haven't seen any issues?

The X1 UI is much more complex its going to take a couple of updates to iron out the wrinkles. For me it works smoothly, but I am someone that uses the voice commands predominately. The kinect was pegged as being integral to the system from day 1....MS were actually incredibly vocal about this fact, choosing not to use something integral to the UI and to then complain about it seems a little pointless.

It IS a fact that the PS4 UI is very simple, it would be my expectation that a simple UI would suffer from less issues initally,no great shocker there.

As for which UI has room to grow and evolve....the X1 is the obvious choice. Its the only UI of the two that seems like it has evolved, I am definitely getting a more "next gen" vibe from it.

It's true though. Anyone who's played both know what I'm talking about. It's like with the 360 controllers having a rounded crappy D-pad vs PS's normal D-pad that worked much better.

Snapping and instant switching with voice commands means the x1 is superior. Going from enjoying a show or sporting event on tv to instantly playing a game means x1 is superior. Having your console recognize you when you enter the room means x1 is superior. And so on.

The ps4 will be good for games but so is the X1. But the X1 just offers more and truly feels next Gen all the way around
