Anyone that thinks there won't be more 1080p/60fps games coming on the X1 is an idiot.

It's inevitable.

I think it'll come with time, game performance will improve this next gen just like it did with the Xbox 360 and PS3.

I'll say this as nicely and as honestly as I can to people buying One's (I'll be getting one next summer, I think): Do NOT buy this console on the promise that you'll see a bunch of 1080p games. It won't have them outside of some multiplat sports franchises and certain first party games. Buy the One because the games will be there and will look good enough, and because the tradeoff you get with all the multimedia features make it a more complete entertainment and social experience than Sony can hope to muster.

If the best visuals and most exclusives on consoles is your goal, the PS4 is clearly your best option. If you want to integrate your gaming and tv experiences together in a seamless way never done before and don't mind a bit of a hit in the visuals of some games and perhaps a slightly smaller catalog of games, get a One.

I agree with everything you said, but I think that people thinking all of the X1's games are going to be 720p shitfests is pretty dumb considering the fact that there were 1080p games this gen on the 360 and PS3. We can also expect there to be 720 p games on the PS4.

The reason why some are not (CoD and Ryse) is because they don't quite have the system optimized fully to allow more power for game developers. Supposedly there is a lot of power not used and they are going to unlock more of this power with driver updates and optimizing the Kinect OS to unlock that extra 10%.

Personally, I'm not to worried with IGN, eurogamer and now Gamespot proclaiming Ryse as having the best graphics of any next gen game.

What do you guys think, DC or is there some truth to this?

There will be no 10% unlock, that part is reserve for the system snap features and Kinect,if you eliminate that 10% on what it will run.? It takes 10% in the first place because it requires heavy recources compute on Kinect is not done on a separate chip, but on the GPU it self.

And Ryse is all smoek and mirrors is a game very enclosed, with nothing to explore,is build like a fightin game, basically all is non interactive crap.

And last 10% will not make for a 720p to 1080p difference,if that could be achieve by only 10% imagine how much stronger the PS4 would be than the xbox one,is basically 40% stronger.

Well, time will tell who is right. Personally, with the craptastic optimization that IW did, I would say that CoD went down like this:

"We cannot maintain 60FPS on XB1, it dips down too much. The PS4 dips too, but not as much as XB1. Lets to 1080P on PS4 and 720P on XB1."

I say this because:

  • The PS4 version has more frame rate drops than the XB1 version
  • IW already said "we have a version of Ghosts running at 1080P on XBoxOne... we couldn't get the frame rate in the neighborhood we wanted it to be." http://www.videogamer.com/xboxone/call_of_duty_ghosts/news/call_of_duty_ghosts_xbox_one_720p_decision_was_only_made_one_month_ago.html

I don't expect many 720p games on the PS4.

I don't see a real reason to expect any either. That's just a matter of specs and developer feature prioritization. I expect 95% of PS4 games to be either 900p or 1080p throughout its lifespan. I expect the majority of One games to be between 720p - 900p, with some titles here and there hitting 1080p. A simple look at the launch titles and their resolutions regarding these two platforms says it all, really. I believe all but one PS4 game coming out this month is 1080p. I believe only about 30% or 40% of the One games are 1080p. I posted it a couple of weeks ago and could find it again if you'd like to glance it over. Though it shouldn't be a shock to anyone that games tend to run better on more powerful hardware...and the PS4 has objectively more powerful hardware. No secret sauce required.

They know you lemmings can't tell the difference from upscaling because you all have shit vision.

Lemmings all have 720p HDTV, they never seen 1080p in person before. Cows and Hermits all have 1080p HDTv, so we can see the difference

Most complete idiotic post ever. Where I'm neither Lem nor Cow, I have a 42'' LED 3D TV. Yes I have 360 and PS3 with X1 pre ordered, Regardless of 720p or 1080p, graphics will look almost exactly the same. I can tell the difference, although on most cases, there just isn't 'that' much of a difference.

Yeah, but the game will look like a PS2 game.

Microsoft will compete with the PS4 by locking res at 720p. The graphics will be mildly better than current-gen consoles.

Xbone is the wii of this gen.

Wii U is actually technically the Wii of this gen.

I don't want to be chasing 1080p/60fps like a loser Hermit. Stop making these threads.
