Some of you guys are childish as hell.
First of all it doesn't ALWAYS take 3 weeks to get your console back when you send it in for repair. When I sold my Premium(Elite had HDMI) to a co-worker it was still under warranty in my name. So, he gave me the console and I went through the repair process for him.
Of course MS said that this would take up to 3 weeks or more for the repair to be made. No problem, the wife and I were vacationing for a couple weeks. Now, less than a feaking week goes by and I recieve a phone call from MS stating that the repairs have been made and the console was on it's way back to my house and I'm half-way across the country.
The console was actually returned to MS and I had to call them to resend it to me.
The OP definitely made a mistake by sending his HDD in with his console and lost data that I'm sure that he will never get back, but to take it to the level of the average GS forum user is absurd.
