What? Are you serious? Nintendo is JAPANESE. Period.

bphan

Of course I'm serious... you've never heard of Nintendo of America? Did you actually think Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo are limited by geopolitical boundaries? Ever heard of the term multinational corporation?

I already answered this.

You're free to base your thoughts;/opinions on whatever you want. The fact is that Nintendo, like many fortune 500 companies has incorporated arms in several countries and regions including America, Canada, Australia, Europe, Korea, and a jointly owned arm in mainland China. Much like Gamespot, it has grown from a small national presence to a huge international conglomeration. :|

Back to the point... you aren't dealing with a solely American website, or a solely American audience. And the discussions within take into account the worldwide state of gaming. Of course you're free to start a U.S. only sales thread, I think. Might wanna check the TOU.

Japan branch started in 2007. Gamespot formed in 1996 primarily as an American site. Know your history.

You do know more americans are on this site right? You do know NPD is discussed here the most right? You do know we don't really care about other sales data like media create right? Right?

nope. just stating that some americans are aware that the other cultures that participate on this board hold just as much weight (in opinions, sales, etc..), regardless of when their branches were formed. that not every american ignores worldwide sales. take it how you will.

I know of no such thing.

Are americans predominant on the site? I dunno, I haven't polled, nor do I care to. Do you have exact data on the national breakdown of users?

Do I know that NPD was most often discussed? I know that it was easily available to find, but I disagree that SW disregarded more encompassing sales data when available. I DO know that SW doesn't consider the sales leader inside of the U.S. as the "Sales winner". If the PS3 were to overtake the 360 in WW sales, for example, everyone (except you, apparently) would acknowledge that the 360 was then in last place. Why would SW even reference sales data like "41.7 million 360s sold" if a great many of those sales were irrelevant to the discussion? :?
