On PS3 there is only GT5. On 360 there is Forza 2, 3 (released before GT5), 4 & Horizon.

Surely GT5 has no excuse but to sell better. It only became available 1475 days after the launch of the PS3. Also:

• One title from a critically acclaimed series ... shouldn't sell better than the single highest selling from a series of 4 games?
• Forza 2 was released on a the competing Xbox 360 platform 550 days after the launch of the Xbox 360.Market starts to get saturated with used copies of a racing game. Only about 1/3 the time GT5 had to build up an install base of PS3s
• and the second, Forza 3 becoming available 1432 days after the launch of the Xbox 360.Market now being saturated with used copies of 2 & and saturation can commence with 3. Even more people could get into the racing genre without creating a retail 'sale', and this is especially true if they own an Xbox 360.
• All this happened 398 days before GT5 was released.PS3 had a chance to build up a bigger install base.

Yes - it is true that GT5 may make the claim that it sold better than the single highest selling Forza title, but - wasn't everything geared up so precisely for this to play out exactly as it did? How big of a victory is this?

It doesn't matter how many gran turismo games are released, it will always outsell forza by millions, you know why?

Brand name, gran turismo is a huge name, while forza is a niche title that relies on multiple releases, because 1 forza game alone won't sell at all.

I find them both rather boring as well (I prefer arcade racers to simcade racers), but Forza is slightly less boring.

Two different genres, buddy! Forza 4 is the best sim on consoles and Forza Horizin is one of the best arcade racing games on consoles. Everyone (except the cows, of course), is happy :)

It took Turn 10 only 2 years to make the highest rated racing game this gen, Forza 3. It took Polyphony digital about 5 years to make a game rated lower than Forza 4 (which many cows consider to be a flop), GT5.TheDidact

Anyone that's played both and isn't trolling will admit Gran Turismo is simply better on the track, it's tighter and has better physics. It just feels like more of a sim and is more satisfying. Forza is just better in the game desgin department, better menu's and single player progression etc.

At the time when I couldnt play online I was stuck with single player and I have to say I have not played GT; however Forza 3 and 4 are so easy its boring to play. I think they messed up their AI to drive to slowly, but with all assists off and I am even using a controller; so I dont have the best controll anyway, I was just consistantly winning. Even when my car was near the bottom of the PI for the class, I would win pretty much comfortably. So that was pretty dissapointing.

Still my best experince of any racing game; online specially is PGR4. That game was the best. Great handling and it took great skill to master some cars to get in the best times.

Still like GT better. GT offers a unique flavor of racing. A flavor that I really, really enjoy.

Forza is a bit too 'edgy' and the track selection is poor.

Yh I think its the majoritys favourite, I really enjoyed 4 though but after the success of the previous ones people were expecting something beyond incredible which is why it wasn't up there with the rest in scores
