Untill the PS3 get's the software that is exclusive to it, the PS3 just looks like an XBOX with a BluRay drive, and a 200.00 premium. Granted the 360 requires 200.00 to play HD-DVD. My hatred of car analogies and the logic that just because a console sells more doesn't mean that it is better has just grown.

Cars (consoles) also need fuel (games) to keep them going, correct? Now, there's only one problem with the car analogy that makes it totally irrevelant: How do you use the car analogy once developer support is factored in? What would you call developer support in the car analogy?

Feel free to try answering my questions! Maybe you'll be able to answer the second one but I highly doubt you'll be able to answer the first without creating flawed logic.

I think I would like to add my 2 cents on this topic...

I currently own a Wii, but have nothing against the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. As a fan of their predecessors, I find these newer systems to have a good amount of potential. Yet, I currently like the resources to obtain them since I don't own an HDTV and cannot take my systems online. Therefore, an xbox 360, while very fun would father some dust in my current living situation since i can't take it only. That seems to be the major selling point of the Xbox 360. The game selection isn't for me quiet yet; Lost Planet, Gears of War and Dead or Alive 4 look like games I would enjoy, but their too expensive for what they offer. I will wait until the console has a price drop, which will also coincide with a stronger selction of games that are geared toward my tastes. You owners of the 360 might like Oblivion and Tom Clancy games, but I can't get into them. However, I like video games, and owe it to myself to get a me an Xbox 360.

The PS3 has a promising lineup but right now I don't see myself owning it in it's current state. It's much too expensive and its game lineup doesn't justify the high price tag. The game lineup doesn't bother me; Every system has a shaky game lineup following its launch. I look forward the games it offers. But the price needs to go down; 600 dollars is expensive for a gaming console. I mean, my first car cost me 800! It might be of value, but I am not a big movie fan, and like I said, don't have an HDTV. Therfore, I won't take much advantage of it's other uses.

I like the Wii right now, simply because it did not allow me to acquire other hardware to expereince it. The controller has promising featuresl Legend of Zelda is a lot funner with the Wiimote. I want to see what Nintendo can do with this console in the future. I guess my thing is that while I and other Wii fans do not seem to mind the graphical capabilities of the Wii, developers might. It was a little upsetting to see Namco not port over Soul Calibur 4 for the Wii. Will that change? It is possible; Wii sales are excellent, and a larger install base might trigger developers into taking the system a bit more seriously. If it is easy to develop for, then I see this happening. Look at what happened to the Saturn; the system was powerful, yet the difficultly in programing 3D games for the systems made it unpopular with developers.

Systems' wars is fun because it allows people to throw baseless facts at each other to prove their console of choice is better than others. I don't take what people say here seriously often because it'st just funny to read. But still, some people do take it a bit too seriously.
