So the impressive PS3 graphics never came

Remember just 2-3 years ago how everyone were like the PS3 will be much better than the XBOX360 on the graphics side, cpu etc...

Years later, the graphics are absolutly the same, and so is the cpu power. I did well to buy a XBOX360 as soon it came out.

I think many would agree LBP is more visually impressive than any 360 game. MGS4 isn't bad either. munu9

LBP could easily be done on 360, visually. Actually, Banjo has some of the same stuff going on...

LBP is really stunning, but its not that much better than things on 360, such as Viva Pinata, Kameo, etc.

In fact, I have yet to play a game on PS3 or 360 that I thought could not be done on the other system.

anyone could have seen that who has half a brain. just look at the specs. debate on the minor differences all you want, they are very very close in power.

Well for starters, I said there was not things much better than. Kameo was a launch title, where as Ratchet was not. Nor is Kameo the best looking game on 360. I was just comparing games with similar art sty1e.

And my overall point still stands.

True, will be interesting to see how Forza 3 (and PGR 5 if they announce it) will look in comparison. Problem is that the next consoles will likely to be out in 2012 so no matter how good GT5 looks, it will be beaten soon after.

Any Banjo doesn't have all those? Banjo has HUGE levels, with an AMAZING draw distance. The game is fully 3D, you can go up if you build a vehicle that allows it, go underwater, go on water. Banjo also has a robust physics engine, which is needed for the type of game it is. Watch a video of Banjo at Gametrailers, you'll be amazed. (I'm not saying LBP doesn't look amazing, I'm just saying graphics-wise it CAN be done on 360)

i only bought ToV for my 360(the only game on the 360 that soothes my rpg gaming preferences)

and probably geow2, but i highly doubt i'll buy geow2 anytime soon. still gonna be an awesome game though.

Uncharted, Rachet & Clank, and Little Big Planet already proved that. When Killzone 2 comes out next year, forget it, X-box 360 wouldn't even catch up. The X-Box 360 has probably reached it limit with Gears of War 2 as it looks like a slight improvement from GeOW 1.MaximumD

IT's not the system so much as the game that has good graphics right now, the 360 and PS3 are both powerful enough to display amazing graphics, but most companies can't afford to really max out the graphics because the games budget would be prohibitive.

Also, the better graphics get the less noticable it is when they make further advances, if we look at PS2 games they suck now, but comparing GoW and Resistence is not nearly as clear.

For the argument's sake, if developers were given unlimited resources with the limited hardware present on the market today, they can achieve any game on the opposite console. All that crap they say about how it cannot be done is either spin or talking in context of the situation, which so happens to be reality in which resources ARE limited (time, mainly being one of them).

Oh, and I think Mass Effect and MGS4 are probably the two games that are the "best" in terms of graphics on consoles.
