Its really surprising. I figured it would get a bump but not this big. The funny thing is that this is missing features from the Wii U version. I'll still take it over the others.

Zombi is actually one of the few REAL survival horror titles that isn't early access and uses jumpscares sparingly.

@isturbo1984: No, they're re-releasing the game because they didn't make a profit due to poor sales of the WiiU, not because of "poor controls" (the controls were never bad in the first place).

I almost have a feeling you never truly played ZombiU considering while playing that game it never felt out of place looking down on the gamepad to reorganize your junk or whatever. Not like it was intruding gameplay because nothing was really happening on the TV except for your Character just sitting there shuffling his/her bag. It just sounds like you went out of your way to make the game seem like a chore because you didn't like looking away from the TV.

@LegatoSkyheart: Actually, it doesn't sound that way at all. You're reaching because you are having trouble understanding others don't have the same opinion as you. I've given no indication that I haven't played the game. Nobody but Wii U owners really know of the type of gamepad controls the game forces on you. And again why would I not have tried this game? It's not like there are tons and tons of Wii U exclusives. You're trailing off-topic though.

On the contrary. I went out of my way to support this game. I heard so many good things about the game when it was released. And I heard it was really immersive. When I played it, I was disappointed with the general gamepad controls. This was actually the Wii U game that made me sign away the gimmicky, oversized ipad controls for good. The entire time, I thought to myself that "this game could fix everything if it just had Pro Controller support." well... now it does. and it's only $20. I guess I could by the Wii U version for slightly cheaper, but that wouldn't be money well spent.

Actually this game does have Pro Controller support. FOR THE MULTIPLAYER.

But like I said before the game was first and foremost designed with the Gamepad in mind. That doesn't make this game less troublesome like you claim it to be. You present an opinion I give you mine. Welcome to the Internet

The game never deserved a 4.5 on the Wii-U. Pretty solid, fun game. Should have scored at least a 7 back then.

Different people's opinion, perhaps? For example, were I a reviewer I would have scored the original Gears of War an 8, while @nyadc would score it an 11.5.

Due to the cricket bat it deserves less.

GameSpot favors Sony its really sickening. The wiiu version deserve a 9 especially if they gave this version which is missing features a 7

well the thing is, the GS review score is done by 1 person. GOTY is done by the entire GS staff I believe, so it's not unheard of that a game that gets a perfect 10 also doesn't get GOTY. Perhaps the reviewer felt it was a perfect 10, but the other staff members didn't. And also, a perfect 10 means "Prime" not "perfect". As I recall from the GS explanation a while ago, it pretty much states that the game is the best in it's genre. You can have a game that is perhaps the best slot machine collection ever and it could get a 10, but it may still not be as fun or as ambitious as GTA5, it just happens to be the best of its class in its respective genre.

Lol, funny stuff in this thread. Anyone consider that it's a budget title on ps4? That'd certainly bump the score.

I don't think Gamespot scores work that way. Gears of War is a budget title on the Xbone, after all.

@PurpleMan5000: They do take cost into account. I believe that came up a few times last gen.

Gears is also a lone game where other HD collections have included 2 or 3 games for the same price. (Albeit usually not fully remade)
