Hate to say it but you're thread's turned into a pissing contest. But to answer your question, I will be getting mine in the next week or two. Why? Cause I already have a 360 and Wii. People say they want the full next gen experience. So why not own all three? Every system gives me something that I truely love about gaming. But I think you need to look at the long run. Right now, it would be the ideal thing to put an exclusive type of title on multiple platforms. But that's also a slap to the face to the loyal users to that franchise. Would you feel betrayed if Bungie brought Halo 3 to the PS3? Or Komani with MGS4 to the 360? I still believe that developers want to keep to their fans of loyalties. Sure we all know, this early in the game of consoles, multiplating a game makes sense to the money constraints. But I'm pretty sure that'll all settle over in the next couple of years. By then we'll see more exclusives go to each console.

Well since you asked this question to the non-cows, I will give you my reasoning for not having one yet.  I never buy any system at launch - that's just plain stupid, IMO.

Right now, there is just no need or appeal for me to have a ps3.  It's game library is very poor with no titles that appeal to me.  I don't buy potential, I buy reality.  As for the bluray, that's not appealing to me either.  I have a library of DVDs, but I have no bluray or HD DVD nor the desire to invest in either at this time.  I have a strong suspicion that digital downloadable content will eventually obsolete both of those formats and I don't want to invest too heavily in them at this time.  And if they do manage to stay around, then inevitably the price of them will drop and I can buy a stand alone player for a cheaper price and better quality.

I remember when the ps2 came out and was a cheap DVD player.  DVD players were very expensive at that time, but they dropped in price and soon the stand alone players were affordable and better quality.

I'm a gamer, I like to play games on my gaming system, and that's why I would and will get a ps3.  But, I can wait.  Maybe 2 years, maybe more.  At that time, it will likely be more reasonably priced, finally have some decent titles worth buying, and several cheap titles available.  It's a win-win situation for me.

Don't be so sure.  I had a GC for the longest time and only picked up a PS2 in the last year and half or so because I was so RPG starved (not that there wern't some other good games).  But I never felt a real strong urge to get an Xbox.  This gen, I have a Wii and love it and might eventually get a 360 because I'm impressed with it so far.  PS3 just dosn't deliever for me now.  That might change, but it dosn't look promising.
