in gamespots article silly,

these are from the actual press release

1 the 3ds will have gamecube like graphics

2 backwards compatible with ds/dsi games

3 3d screens obviously

4 screens less then 4 inches -3.9?

5 better wifi /internet

6 tilt/motion tech being looked into

7 and there is nearly no space between the screens making it possible to use both screens as one big one-thus giving us at least 6.somthin inches total

and it wil have a analog stick /psp like thing for controlling in a 3d plane /world

so ya um its confirmed but doesn meant itll use the chip you mentioned it could use a similar one

Only one option: Wait for E3....

That's as best as it can get.

i heard the gap between the screens will be decreased. can anyone confirm that?

Willy105

Nobody can confirm until Nintendo actually shows the thing at E3, but the developers say it is 'seamless', and it folds when you close it.

that sounds frigging awesome. E3 cant get here soon enough.

[QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"][QUOTE="Willy105"][QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"] Isn't that what the Wii was?

But that's a console, not a handheld. Also, the Wii is not really Gamecube power, is a couple times stronger, but tell the devs that.

You know I see posts like this all the time with sheep defending the Wii's hardware. Why even bother? You could say the Wii is capable of running Crysis on high at 120 fps for all I care. The developers have already proven the strength of the Wii hardware: It has none. SMG is the best looking game on the entire console and that's pathetic. It's not even that much of an improvement over Super Mario Sunshine and they run at the same resolution. Why defend the Wii's hardware? It sucks. It's common knowledge. You don't have to convince yourself otherwise any longer. The truth will set you free. Just be happy that Nintendo's handheld division is still respectable. If they can match GC power on a handheld, that's pretty impressive IMO. It'll just suck when you go to play your Wii and you realize that a handheld has pretty much the same exact graphic capabilities as it... that's kind of sad.

It's sad that you no longer want to hear it. Come on, be reasonable. The Wii may not have the numbers to output it's games at the resolution of the PS3, but it is in no way handicapped by it's graphical power. It's not an N64, it's not a SNES, and it is not a Pong machine. It's smaller paper, but you can still make a fantastic drawing in it. People call it art, you know, actually creating worlds out of pixels and colors, instead of just taking a photo of a wall, and adding a shader effect for it to look nice.

They should have afold-abledisplay. I was never too fond of those gaps, makes Sonic Rush frustrating to play.

I like this Idea.

Lets all hope Nintendo makes one peripheral this time around.

A bit odd, I can't determine if the ''vibrating stick'' means a stylus or analogue stick. Doesn't seem to mention 3D either.tomarlyn

Not directly. However it refers to a sort of interaction based on how far away the enemy character appears (their depth). Which sounds like something which could possibly complement the 3D. What is interesting is that this patent was originally filed in 2004, yet Nintendo choose to update it now (or at least recently).

They've obviously been toying with this idea for a while. Virtual Boy just came at the wrong time.

Another gimmicky Nintendo hardware release that has about as much appeal to me as having sex on a bed of butcher knives.

True. They apparently even included 3D functionality in the Gamecube, though never used it.

At least it's something new and not a rehash of the same system you had last gen with better graphics. There's plenty to hate Nintendo on, but you have to know your place if you want to be taken seriously.

It's an all new DS effectively DS2, I know gamespot says otherwise, but they are wrong.
