That's incorrect.
According to the Gregorian Calendar (the internationally accepted calendar, ISO 8601, Section 3.2.1) there wasn't a year zero. So the next decade doesn't start 'til 2011.
since we are citing wikipedia, we are currently in a new Decade (Decade with a capital D) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_decadesI see what happened. They shorted the 0s a year so that the rest of the 200 decades we have would make sense, like 1990-1999 being the last decade of the millennium. We short the first decade a year, not add one to the last decade.
