It's impossible to gauge it like that. Killzone doesn't have hundreds of trees and plants that react to wind, bullets, explosions etc. It doesn't need to display things at extremely far distances at a decent level of detail. Of course the game still looks pretty good.LeejjohnoHe is not asking which looks better overall he is asking what setting on Crysis is closest to Killzone.
People really need to read what the OP wrote. He obviously knows Crisis maxed out looks better. He wants to know what settings of Crisis are comparable to KZ2. You know even Crisis looks bad at lowest settings and resolution. The Crisis pics he posted are neither best nor worst, and are just the screens he could find that are at least comparable quality. Posting Crisis at its best is unnecessary because only an idiot or serious fanboy would say it's not better.Holyknight_CJKZ2 not comparable to crysis, graphically there too different

Considering the sheer number of KZ2 fanboys that turned this into a Vs thread, it isn't too surprising that the purpose of the thread has been diluted.
High to very high.blazed0000
I highly doubt it. If Crysis could be run on high to very high I think Crytek would of ported it by now. Not to mention that to run it on high to very high on PC requires far more horsepower than the PS3 or 360 have.
all those shots are ingame gameplay if u dnt believe me go look at the pic with the link to the video posted a 7 or 8 posts back, and if your bashing killzone 2s motion blur then your bashing crysis because they use the exact same motion blur.claywalker21I've seen pics where the gun is blurred just standing still in Killzone 2. This is not the case with Crysis.
this is OWNAGE for every 1 that doubted these pics not being ingame.heres the link to the vid and heres the pic.

Okay... Well, it certainly looks in-game. What's the problem there? It's kinda at the level of Call of Duty 4. Perhaps a bit better.
Dear jealous and desperate cows, come back when you, like me, have played Crysis with a highly good computer and Killzone 2 on a nice TV. Then, you'll, just like me, realize that Killzone 2 doesn't stand a chance. Quit weeping and move on - Crysis still has the title in its hand.

Thank you, someone who has played killzone beta and crysis on a nice computer. I am loving killzone beta so far, but the graphics are not close to crysis in any way shape or form.
[QUOTE="darbyshireandy"]crysis on pc at med to max is unrivaled by any other game period. its got it all nothing compares to it. Now killzone 2 is the consoles benchmark its unfair to compare them, killzone 2 imo is as close to perfection a console can get ATM its that good but as i said to compare killzone to crysis is too hard they are so different ( settings ,gameplay, player models and open world etc...)
crisis #1 pc graphics (for now!)
killzone 2 #1 console graphics ( for now !)

Crysis on medium better then any game out there? First time i played crysis through was on medium because i still had a 7 series card that couldnt run it on high with a good FPS. It looks good but there are plenty of games that looks as good or better then crysis on medium. Now high and very high... different story. I would compare killzone 2 to crysis high, it has very similar effects, but crysis is more impressive of course because of scale.
Depends if it's medium DX10 or medium DX9c.

I did, however, enjoy Killzone 2 a bit more than Crysis, actually. :) But Crysis still rocks
One thing immediately obvious about the Killzone 2 pics is the low-resolution textures (they attempt to cover it up with those NICE shaders, lighting and just a lot of bump-mapping, but it's still there). Other than that, it's a VERY nice looking game. I haven't seen videos but hopefully it doesn't suffer from crappy flickering blobby shadows which the PS3 seems notorious for. Also remember that Killzone 2 is only in 1280x720, which is a pretty low resolution. Of course, when you're sitting a 2 metres away from the screen it doesn't matter.Richard7666Lol, K2 has been confirmed to run at NATIVE 1920x1980 Interlaced.

You can't compare the two as they are fairly different. The reason why Crysis so praised was because it took an outdoor/jungle game which generally in the past looked absolutely horrible in games, and make it look awesome.
Killzone 2 has more of a indoor/small outdoor theme with a lot of action going on at once. It has a lot less forestry to process but a lot more exlposions and moving AI.
Though it doesn't seem like anyone has posted any snow pictures of Crysis (which imo looks life-like on ultra high when you're moving).

One thing is better in Killzone 2 for sure is the lighting and the small details in the game.
Another thing Im sure of is how talented KZ2's developer for making such an amazing looking game on closed hardware, on the other hand, it is up to the PC for Crysis to be great looking or not and I saw alot of pics where there are alot of faults with the lighting.
The resolution of the game is stunning in Crysis however, look at the red light in this pic for example.
Look how KZ2's lighting works in this pic.
Look at the blue light and how it reflects on the face and the clothes of the character and how the light actually comes from it.
Yeah, the lighting techniques in KZ2 are stunning. Not only the technical aspect of it, but the artistic use of it. Every light source actually emits and reflects off of other objects in the world. I'm not saying it's better than Crysis lighting engine (though I find it more visually appealing), but its a great feat no doubt. One thing is better in Killzone 2 for sure is the lighting and the small details in the game.
