SO, What Was The Best New Franchise This Decade (for Current Gen)?

RULES TO THIS TC: current gen means NOT HALO, CALL OF DUTY, GTA, GT, etc......

but technically Modern Warfare counts as a new series, as does Mario Galaxy.....so u can think of it that way. They arent direct sequels to their older gen ancestors.

And, as side note, i think Fallout 3/ Vegas counts as new considering how completly different it is than the previous installments, and RDR is a complete remake of RDRevolver, so it can count too. So spiritual successors can be used here, but direct successors to franchises of previous gens are prohibited.

Anyways i think the best new franchise was without a doubt Mass Effect. I felt it just brought so much innovation an love to the sci fi shooter table that it sets a new standard for adventure shooters. I give a second place medal to Assassins Creed, for also being very unique and intriguing, setting (for me personally) a new standard for adventure games.

Hm, AC, ME, maybe Uncharted, GeoW, and LBP to name a few. Bottom line is I can't choose.

So far Uncharted, and I HIGHLY doubt that is going to change.

Mass Effect, Gears of War, BlazBlue, No More Heroes, and Bayonetta *hopefully there's a sequel*.

Actually, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are part of the existing Super Mario platformer franchise.

My top three without a doubt are Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, and Bioshock.

If I only had to pick one it would be, Gears of War.

You just can't deny its importance after the many games that were influenced by it like for example: Lost Planet, Rainbow Six Vegas, Uncharted, etc.

While I know Uncharted, Killzone and some other franchises for the PS3 are great, I have no say in them -- I don't have a PS3. I'm also excluding, since the TC asked to, all franchises that began at earlier Gen. consoles and have continued on to this one (Forza, PGR, etc.).
