And decreases performance at the same time! :P

Gotta give some to get some.

It's true, if you have a good enough system in the first place your game willl still be playable with some AA and AF.

[QUOTE="rgame1"]no one cares for PC. Thats why normal gamers could care less about crysis' graphics. They are too busy enjoying games rather than upgrading hardware.cobrax25

thats certainly why WOW has more players than all of XBL combined :) because nobody cares about the PC.

Well..this year we'll see Empire:TotalWar and Storm of War, both will be doing for their respective genres' graphics the same thing Crysis did with FPS graphics

Crsysi looks good and has lots of motion blurr, but even that doesn;t look like you're running PC hardware that's several times as powerful and expensive as a console.

Don't listen to hermits who overhype the PC, unless its for RTS games and mods.

Actualy it does, because not only it has more details, but most of all the scale is beyong anything consoles could handle. You play it and you think : "now..this is something 360/PS3 could NEVER run"

The only thing the consoles couldn't handle is the resolution, that detail hardly matters.

Actualy no, they don't have enough memory to handle Crysis. Look at all console shooters, linear, with petite levels that are cut into small chunks. Crysis can't work like this. THe open and dynamic huge levels of Crysis are something consoles just couldn't handle.

THat's what always have been a difference between console and PC games: scale and freedom. I could care less about graphical details

The 'chunk' style works, its also more efficient since you're not gonna be in every place all the time. The openness was one of the reasons why Crysis' campian was so boring, if not average. It least we were able to pick up crap and toss it into the brittle trees and sheds, that was fun...

except that they repeated it;s impossible in the same interview where they've annouced going multiplatform.

And every big company is going multiplatform nowadays, it;s not just PC devs, Criterion and Capcom are supporting PCs nowadays also

They would say anything, they even said the PS3 version would be enhanced.

Also it didn't sell enough to counter the rampant piracy.

So the only way next-gen console version can look better is if the PC version is port from the previous gen version? THat doesn't exactly put consoles in good light

As for the Sports games:  is that the best you could come up with....ROFLAMO the PC versions of those are ports from the PS2 version.

What are you talking about? Madden 2007, Just Cause, NBA Live 2008 are all recent games all of which look better on consoles even if you got a $3000 PC. Plus theres more like King Kong, GRAW, Rainbow Six Vegas, etc...

your just self owning yourself by bringing up games that were released almost at the start of the gen...of course those games will look better on consoles...they ususally do for the first half year or so.

as for the Sports games.... seeing as how the PC versions are ports of the last gen versions....well thats just making you seem foolish.

Oh...BTW, Vegas does look better on the PC...you are right about GRAW...but in the case of GRAW the PC version is much more open and larger than the virtually linneare console version.

Ermm... the PC versions of those games are ports from old generation of consoles. Just Cause for example was ported from the XBox version, not the 360 version. With EA's sports games they are doing the same thing, those games are actualy using the Xbox art assets, not the next-gen ones. I guess it's too keep the requitemenrs not

Plus theres more like King Kong, GRAW, Rainbow Six Vegas, etc...Flexmaster_365

GRAW on PC is a completely diffrent game from 360 one.

And both Vegas as well as King Kong (the downloadable HD version at least) look better on PC than on 360, they have exacly the same art assets, but better AF and higher res makes PC versions look better

Actualy excuses are all you are offering. Because you've disagreed with present tense. And all you can do is post games that were released long time ago. How about current games? Got any? No? Didn't think so :D

So the only way next-gen console version can look better is if the PC version is port from the previous gen version? THat doesn't exactly put consoles in good light

AdrianWerner

What are you talking about? Madden 2007, Just Cause, NBA Live 2008 are all recent games all of which look better on consoles even if you got a $3000 PC.

Ermm... the PC versions of those games are ports from old generation of consoles.

Well maybe they are ported from old generations because the PC couldn't handle them, ever thought of that...

GRAW still looks better on the 360 though thats a fact, read some reviews and look at comparissons...

NO Vegas is missing much of the motion blur as well as post processing, I have played it BTW on my PC with a 7900GT...

King Kong looks worse, read the reviews..

the point is anyway...that Consoles can not match PC graphics...and if you actually think they can....well your just being naive.cobrax25

When the next wave of consoles come out, like always the graphics will better than PC's until the next round of upgradable parts are for sale of course.

Excuses excuses, the facts are that they all look better than the PC versions.

AdrianWerner

Actualy excuses are all you are offering. Because you've disagreed with present tense. And all you can do is post games that were released long time ago. How about current games? Got any? No? Didn't think so :D

I'm still giving examples but there are more, just look at Tomb Raider the most recent one.

The graphics will never look as good as PCs, because consoles can't handle true HD as well as AA.

Nope, I would have to be retarded to think that, so nope...I never did though of that

GRAW still looks better on the 360 though thats a fact, read some reviews and look at comparissons...Flexmaster_365

And Crysis looks better than GRAW on 360? What... they're not the same game? Geee... that's what PC GRAW also is, a diffrent game sharing only the same and genre with 360 version.

NO Vegas is missing much of the motion blur as well as post processing, I have played it BTW on my PC with a 7900GT...Flexmaster_365

then I suggest you go into your options menu and turn those effects on

King Kong looks worse, read the reviews..

Flexmaster_365

the reviews are for retail version only, not the one avaible on D2D

the most recent tomb raider looked better on PC's.....

again...Using examples of either very old console games or Situations where the PC got the last gen port doesnt help you in the least bit....it just makes you look foolish....

the fact remains, that Multiplats do look consistantly better on the PC...and only idiots will try to deny that.

GRAW is the same game it even has the same name. It may be first person on the PC but you can still compare graphics...Crysis isn't on consoles at all so you can't compare it directly.

There is an option for motion bllur but it doesen't look anywhere as good as the 360 version. Its most noticable when flying over Vegas or going through the Casinos which look vastly crappier on the PC, search some reviews...

I am talking about retail not modifications...

NO even with next gen features enabled the 360 version looked and ran better do some research.

They are situations nonetheless of the same titles being released this gen...

You better not be calling me an idiot...

first of all...GRAW on the 360 and PC are completly different games...the difference is not that the PC version is first person, its that the PC version has a much larger scale....

and Vegas does look better on the PC: even GS says so.

"and the PC version looks just as good as the Xbox 360 version--it's even slightly better in some places."

and of course you can always bump up the Resolution and level of AA to make it look much better.

Not recent ones. You can only name old games it seems. TR is a perfect example. Legend was once again Xbox port, but the most recent one; TR:Anniversary edition doesn't look any better on 360 than on PC, actualy it looks worse because of the jaggies

So everytime someone calls another person a lemming/hermit/sheep it's "flaming"?

Oh, why should I bother arguing with trolls? You can't win against them.

Proof of what I said about you? Just look through your posting history in SW while debating with hermits. You've done nothing but use the same old debunked arguments again and again.

I don't agree with that at all. I have played the demo of the PC version and the only difference were the visuals and the fact that it was a FPS.

Ok how about you paste the phrase that says that...

Rainbow Six Vegas 2, very recent release

"And even then, the PC version of this great tactical shooter doesn't quite measure up to the performances found on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions"

"Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for the PC is the weakest of all the versions due to its poor optimization, broken textures, and questionable AI."
