Except for Dance Central, the current Kinect catalogue is bad to mehtastic.

Wow, seems like the naysayers do have short memories. I wonder how many cows have been served to them since Kinect released? Lol

Alright a couple things.
I said people who think that a lot of people said Kinect will fail are delusional, you gave me a whopping 7 links, please don't tell me you think that's a lot.
And on top of that, a couple of those links don't even have the thread maker saying Kinect will fail.
TheXFiles, that's just trolling or 12 year old "LOLOL FLOPZ"
They don't really count as there was 0 reasoning behind their statement to back it up, same with those who say 3DS will be the next Virtual Boy, or that it "failed" which is factually false.
Ok let me rephrase it: Amongst the reliable and non fanboys, the consensus was that it would sell ;p
Upon it's release a lot of people on this forum were bashing the Kinect, but in the end Microsoft proved them all wrong and made them eat their words.
According to Wikipedia... Kinect holds the Guiness World Record of being the "fastest selling consumer electroncs device".
It sold an average of 133,333 units per day with a total of 8 million units in its first 60 days.
10 million units of the Kinect sensor have been shipped as of March 9, 2011.
TheMadGamer
Who cares about number of units sold anyway? Where are the games?
I knew the Kinect would sell well. I also knew that the games would be mostly shovelware and crap. Since I used the word "mostly" I am completely correct until proven otherwise. ;)MrSelf-Destruct
As I've said before, whatever potential Kinect has, it isn't as a game controller.
[QUOTE="razgriz_101"]bet you'd get it if it let load weapons on your plane in Ace Combat LOL.Still here.
Own a 360 but have no intrest in Kinect really just see it as a gimmick.
sts106mat
probably not xD would rather have a Hori Flight stick at that kinda dosh :P
No doubt and I'd say after this E3 showing, many will try and make fun out of it for SW purposes but will secretly run out and buy one for themselves.
:P
Probably off laughing about Kinect games taking over the 360's line up._Cadbury_really...because kinect games are in the minority of 360 games being released...
nah thats the ps3...till a ps3 game sells alot or outsells the 360 version then its about sales again.I thought the Xbox platform was all about the games and not the sales?
Storm_Marine
Really, because I remember numerous threads that foretold that Kinect would bankrupt Microsoft. How quickly we forget...[QUOTE="SuperFlakeman"]
Nah the consensus was that Kinect would outsell Move.
Don't remember talks about it being a failiure in terms of sales.

Most of those people didn't back up their statements with reasoning, they where just flat statements: It's a flop.
No discussion, no argument, just "imo", they don't count.
Well there was the pricetag, but as most of the non fanboys and sane people predicted, it didn't matter as the system had a very attractive mass market selling point coupled with a massive marketing budget.
That's the recipe of success.
Edit 3 (lol): And the fact that MS is a very compotent company, which means no way they would screw this up.
TC, it just doesnt matter, no matter what success XBOX 360 continues to have the COWS here in system wars will always bash and hate, they will NEVER accept that its not PlayStation who is dominating this generation so the bash MS defense mechanism is always on high alert with them....its sad in a way.Upon it's release a lot of people on this forum were bashing the Kinect, but in the end Microsoft proved them all wrong and made them eat their words.

Um, i think most knew it would be a financial success. It's the lack of games that is the concern.Upon it's release a lot of people on this forum were bashing the Kinect, but in the end Microsoft proved them all wrong and made them eat their words.

Somebody never took part in all those threads claiming it'll be a financial failure.:PEh... nobody really doubted Kinects sales potential at all. It was the software. We wanted compelling software to go with the new tech. Can you post some links to some great games built for Kinect?
Wiimotefan
Sure it sold great but where are the games?
exercising is for lunatics?:PKinect is for people who like exercise and dance games. I have not interest jumping and swinging my arms like a lunatic. I prefer to play with a controller and have not interest in ever purchasing a Kinect.
3rdbass
Ummm...no games that I care about for this thing so I don't care. Bread_or_DecideI don't really get people celebrating the commercial success of kinect when it really appeals to very few on these boards. I want it to flop so I'm not forced to buy it for the handful of games that *might* be decent for it at some point. Having played a couple of games on it, have to say that I was MASSIVELY underwhelmed by it. Its fun for like 5 minutes, a Wii 0.5.
The question remains: Can you make a great game with deep gameplay without having any buttons? Because I can see Move/Wii one day playing Oblivion or Demons Souls like games, where you use the motion controller to swing your weapon, block, cast spells....and have the buttons to manage inventory and crap like that. Drakan11You hit the nail on the head. There are some cool things you can do with Kinect but its never going to be able to handle modern control schemes without the use of some sort of controller. Did a video on it a while back...... youtube.com /watch?v=_B1_VkjRLvA
I still consider a dance pad as a controller. :P Also there aren't really any dance moves. While I love that game, it only benefits people with fast reflexes. :xDDR ftw

Were you talking about the Move or the Sixasis? Talking about the Sixasis, as I recall most of the Sony fanboys calling it as the second coming of Christ and it would revolutionized the gaming world forever? How was it turned out then? Now the cows have the Move which can be used as an ice scream cone. See Mom, it changes colors. Lol.
