Where are the new vids and screens of SSBB, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, Wii Health, Wii Music, Suprise game 1, Suprise game 2 etc etc etc.
It appears there is pretty much no new information at all...

Surprised no one has broken that embargo yet. There was an embargo on Reggie's conference, too, and they broke that.
There had better be some big news coming out of this. Don't want something like "Galaxy pushed to '08 in America" as the big news.
and everything shown at todays event wont be known til the E3 Edition of print mags. Yesterdays event is embargoed til friday.
All the juciest details were likely saved for todays showing though so gotta wait some time

You serious? :(
It seems a bit strange that there is an embargo.
What is Nintendo trying to hide?
It's not like there is going to be anything THAT special. In fact maybe they are worried that we may be dissapointed, like we were with the Metroid Prime 3 shots, so they are just delaying the backlash as long as possible...

Hard to know why the embargo is in place and the MP3 shots were sent at some really funky resolution that helped make them look less then ideal so its hard to say whats going on. The only thing we know for sure is the event happening right now is Pre E3 Hype so we wont see anything from today

whats with the dang embargo. i want the info now. sheesh what company doesnt wanna build up hype. i mean come on. jg4xchampThe Embargo is there just to give members of the Press time to right up there story so that they all release at the same time so competitors don't release the info until the others are ready becuase it would be unfair to release it when everyne else isn't finished that is the reason Nintendo did this.
The real question is: Where are all the latest 3rd party games info for Wii? KingsofQueens
Indeed. I keep hearing about all this 3rd party support but all I see is a few throw away titles that clearly were developed in a few months and were just created to cash in on the Wii's casual gaming market...

Just wait two days, it's not a big deal. Also there is supposed to be a FFCC trailer coming out as well, from what I've heard the game is a large improvement over the GC version.

Because they want all the Magazine and websites to have the same chance and have it up at the same time becuase is they don't give those a chance one would do alot worse then the others also Nintendo has Nintendo Power Magazine so they want there Magazine to stand a chance aswell so they have the Embargo the websites will still have that info first but they still want there Magazine to get info around the same time as the other magazines.

I'm not convinced.
I think it may actually be a ploy so all the info appearing on all the sites, now at the same time, seems like bigger news than if it were spread out over more days with various bits and bos appearing across various sites etc. This in effect makes the news seem more important, like everyone and anyone is covering it and it is a sudden news explosion all at once. This will probably garner more mainstream media attention and may even help get all the news and info out to the more casuals gamers and mainstream audience, who would not normally hear any of this news about new upcoming games and so on.
Putting an embargo on the news is just a smart marketing ploy IMO.
It's just a pitty it means WE have to uneccessarily wait for the info, just so Ninty can squeeze a little more marketing mileage out of it...

I think it may actually be so the info appears on all the sites at the same time as a way to make the news seem bigger, like everyone is suddenly covering it, all at the same time, like it is something huge. Rather than the usual spread of bits and bib of different info here and there on different sites.
I think it is Nintendo's marketing approach at making their latest info, screens, movies, previews etc, more prevalent in the news, which may in turn cause more hype, and therefore may garner it more mainstream converage etc, making it seem like even bigger news in turn.

Why complain about something so small? It's not like you're getting the games any faster. There will just be some news on a few upcoming games.

As much as I acnticipate waiting for new on the latest games and screens, videos, and so on for the games I wanna see more of... I'll be honest... people put too much care into this stuff I think. I'm patient to wait for the news and info on a game, I've got many games to play, other things to worry about, and while I love to be on the top with everything in the industry.... it's really just too much when people say "OMG Why is there no info?!?!?!" I'll be gone Friday and won't be back till Monday anyways, so I'll have to wait longer for this news....yoshi_64
That's good for you.
Personally I have yet to be completely convinced by the Wii and every day that goes by that I don't see some good news for the system, or some decent screens and movies of it's most anticipated games, is one more day that convinces me maybe it just isn't worth buying for me personally.
The news cannot come soon enough as far as I am concerned...

Excuse my stupidity, but what'san embargo?hazbazz
In this case it's where Nintendo have requested that the press from releasing any information from their summit until a certain date stipulated by Nintendo, which as far as I am aware happens to be this Friday, and I suspect if the press break the date then Nintendo may not send them future info in advance etc, so they will all likely stick to it...

As far as I am concerned I never trust spin off series until I actual see or play those games myself because most of them turn out to be very average.
I am not saying there aren't a couple or so games coming from 3rd parties that sound interesting but seriously, it's not that many so far, and most of the games that 3rd parties have announced are either simple party/quick play games or spin offs from their main series, instead of actually just creating new versions of those main series that take full advantage of everything the Wii has to offer...
