I believe MGS4 is the better game. I don't play too much online, so I don't take that into account.
A couple of reasons why I believe MGS4 is better than Halo 3:
1. Gameplay was a fresh experience. It had that MGS feel, but instead of being decent gameplay like past titles, MGS4 had amazing gameplay. Halo 3's gameplay was more of the same, which isn't a bad thing.
2. A fitting conclusion. MGS4's ending was superb and felt like the ending to a great saga. Halo 3's ending still leaves me disappointed; I was hoping for a big climactic conclusion which Bungie didn't give.
Overall i think Halo 3 just....
Its very close and MGS 4's SP eclipses H3's by far. But i give it to Halo 3 for the fact that you can play over 1k multiplayer matches and not get bored, well for me atleast.
[QUOTE="Lazy_Boy88"]MGS4. Halo3 was too much of the same. Nothing really special.rolo107
Someone hasn't played Halo 1-3. Definitely big changes in between. MGS4 however still wins on single player front, but Halo 3 destroys MGO in every way. (Yes I have both.)
um Lazy_Boy88 has said on many occasions how dissappointing Halo 2/3 are compared to the first Halo.Alot of diehard MGS fans(myself included) have questioned the ending to MGS 4 a bit.I believe MGS4 is the better game. I don't play too much online, so I don't take that into account.

I loved the last levels, plus the last few fights. I thought they made the overall experience incredible, ending the gameplay on those high-notes and then wrapping everything up.
Spoiler tags aren't working for me, otherwise I'd ask you as to why the disappointment.
Edit: Read some of your blog now and I can see some of the reason for the disappointment. I guess if I have to find disappointment with the ending of the game, it didn't touch me as much as MGS3's ending no matter how much I wanted it to.
[QUOTE="wizardwd"]Just a small question here but does MGS4 allow 4 man co-op for the missions?Zassimick
I don't think it allows any sort of co-op to be honest. Co-op is a great feature and does add to replay value... but I don't see MGS having co-op.
That's exactly why I vote to say that Halo 3 is better then MGS4. MGS4 is a great game if you play alone, but Halo 3's co-op features, the great online multiplayer, Forge and the Theatre mode just push it on top for me.

thats silly, MGS isnt the type of game that would even make sense having 4-player co-op....its not a run and gun shooter.....nor does it have a generic looking main character that yo ucan duplicate with multiple colors......I dont think Kojima thinks 4 solid snakes running around makes any sense.....but Im just speaking for him :P
Personally, I like MGO better than Halo 3 online because it's something different. I can play an FPS online any time but theres not too much thats similar to MGO.
I just hope they fix the balancing issues. Other than that it's great.
I like MGS4 better, btw. I think the theatre mode for Halo 3 was awesome though
I must first say that I haven't played MGS4.
That said, much can be gleaned from the reviews & SW posters but I know I still need to play MGS4 myself but.........
For now, Halo 3 represents to me the finest and most complete & silky smooth this gen package with the biggest bang for the buck and gamers spending hundreds & thousands of gaming hours even this long after launch and likely to continue for years just furthers the point.
Of course IMHO.
Singleplayer-wise, MGS4 is better and actually lived up to the hype.
As for multiplayer, I really can't comment on that.

Same for me. Nobody will be talking about MGO in 09.

its people like u that make gaming bad  I hate when devs put all their time into online and none on single player *cough*COD4*cough* I dont have a link, but im almost sure that the majorty of gamers arent online gamers.
I enjoy playing online more than playing offline, so id say that Halo 3 is the better buy for me. I played 4 hours of MGS4 at my friends house last night and out of those 4 hours, we've only actually PLAYED about 30-40 minutes of in-game gameplay, the rest we found ourselves laying down trying not to fall asleep as a 10 minute long cutscene played on the screen, after that scene ended, we walked in a maze for 2 minutes than another 5 minute + cutscene occured. It was ridiculous and i was disappointed
Halo 3. Amazing MP, fun 4 player co-op.

Don't forget to say in your opinion... cause I would disagree with that statement.
i meant in my opinion. playing against different people evrytime keeps it new... whereas single player has the same enemy layouts every single time. but atleast i didn't put on FACT in bold caps. besides i like having friendly conversations during a match. :)

People will beat a campaign in a day and then the game will be forgotten. The online MP is were the game is, its where the game will strive for years to come.
IMO, id rather play competitively online with my peers rather than playing alone in a dark room playing the single player against bots

Halo 3. Amazing MP, fun 4 player co-op.

naturally, to each is own.
but by gamespot standards. MGS4 > Halo 3, just like Halo 3 > any other PS3 game other than MGS4.

I like multiplayer but that's not always the case. If the singleplayer is really good, then it's replayable. I'm on my third playthrough and I'm still having loads of fun trying to improve myself. :|

Good. :) If you would have put FACT I would have been all:evil:
I can definitely see why online appeals to many people, your reasons being some of the appeal. Maybe I'll give into online gaming once I buy a gold membership on live and start playing Halo 3 and stuff. Guess I could go give MGO and UT3 a try, but when I have time I'm probably going to go play Oblivion. :P
