Not really. When 90% of SW are Cows and Hermits, the results are actually what you would expect.
You must have not noticed how the Xbone isn't very popular outside of SW either.
It's even less popular in SW. lol!! SW is mostly hardcore gamers anyway. XB1 will still sell millions and will probably produce a XB1 Slim before the PS4 this time around.
There are more good PC games than I could play in a life time.
Consoles are for people who enjoy garbage like The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite. Mediocre, generic gameplay with a focus on storytelling. They're dumbed down casual experiences for people who suck at games.
I think the developers of the new Thief game should be put in jail for what they're doing to the series. There is no other way to say it; they are molesting the franchise.

I would get a Xbone over PS4 on launch as it has a more interesting launch line-up, if it didn't cost that much, came out in my country at launch and MS didn't act like a complete idiot with their AO-DRM.
Oh and because I know that MS will not publish a lot of exclusives anymore if they know the console is selling steadily without them (like they did with 360). It's a smart business move, but I'm a gamer not a business man and for me consoles are all about the exclusives.
Eventually, and with enough exclusives, I'd own all 3 systems. Right now, however, I'm staying with PS3, 360 and PC stuff that I haven't played much. I'm also planning to play GTA V for a while.
Current plan is to get both "the One" and PS4 at launch, but I am really starting to back off of that idea as the two consoles are basically the same thing right now. So it will come down to what games do I really want to play at launch...Forza 5, DR3, KI and Ryse or Drive Club, Knack and Killzone. I don't count multiplats as a pro or con for either as they will be identical.
I'll buy the Xbox One first, then I'll get a PS4 6-12 months later, sorta like I did this gen with getting the 360 first, then my ps3. I've always just preferred the Xbox brand, since the original Xbox, and so have my friends. In getting em both eventually though.
Though now that i think about it, that ain't much in the long run, Lord knows how much i've invested in gaming. But in a shorter span, lets say a couple of months.. that's not pocket change.. damn.
I'll be building a new PC early next year and that'll do me. The only 'console' I got this gen was the PSP and that was mostly for retro games (all those retro collections a la Sega Genesis Collection/Midway Arcade Classics and the Final Fantasy I/IV remakes, Lunar etc.). Hell out of the two GoW games I have on PSP, I've only played through one of them.
Big RTS/TBS/Simulation fan here, so there's really nothing on consoles that excite me. Guild Wars 2 is where most of my gaming time is going these days anyway, and that's mostly because my friends are there.
The two friends I have with consoles (Xbox 360) mostly use it for watching movies. I can do that on PC with Chromecast for $30.
I'm spending more time with RPGMaker VX Ace than anything.
a raft of upgrades for mittens soon i think. im probably going to wait for the next gen GPUs but everything else i think will be in for review soon. an SSD is a must at this stage. time to bite the bullet there. i will see how my P2X4 handles rome 2 but i have a feeling i will need a newer i5 processor for that game. oh and more ram of course. wiiu next year....maybe this year if the price is right. but def next year. project X will be out and i simply must have it. its starting to build up a list of games i want also. a PS4 in 2015 maybe....see how things go. X1 does nothing for me so i probably wont get that. have a 3DS and vita so all set on the handheld front (i also have a 10" tablet and smartphone but there crap for gaming. in the unlikely even that something wonderful happens though im covered on that front also).
i've gone with ps4 as my console of choice. I just prefer Sony's first party games to Microsoft. 3rd party games will be about the same on both consoles as will most aspects. I enjoy controllers from both companies and they both have seem to improve upon them further. Oh and while kinect could be really initiative, i would rather not spend the extra 100 dollars. So Ps4 and PC for me.
I'll be picking up a PS4 once Destiny launches. If the next Halo ends up looking fantastic and for some reason Titanfall doesn't come to PS4 (highly unlikely) I'll pick up Xbox One down the line.
