So with all this TLoU talk, who hasnt played it yet?
The game has sold 7 million on PS3.
Im just wondering if there are any people on SW that havent played it at all yet.

Hmmm many of the people who didn't like the game are MS nuthuggers. Coincidence?
The game actually starts off a little slow but progresses really well. Graphics, gameplay and story are all top notch. Every game has flaws and yet MS nuthuggers seem to nuthug games that have 1000X the flaws that TLOU ever did. As for me well, I had a PS3 so when the game came out I bought it and played it twice and the DLC which I actually found disappointing once. I'll play it again in a few years on PS4.
played it, was disappointed. story was predictable, combat is repetitive and the AI is just hilariously awful. :(
Waited on the PS4 version that i will be getting day 1.
Cant believe ive managed to stay away from youtube lets play spoilers for all this time.
Havent even watched gameplay vids.
you'll will be having orgasms as you lose your virginity when you finally play the game
I haven't played it yet, and I sure hope that it lives up to the hype for me
its no Uncharted, doesnt play anything like Uncharted even tho it may look like a re-skinned Uncharted.
I'll be honest like the first few hours I was massively disappointed with the game, becuz subconsciously i was expecting that action packed cinematic Uncharted style and gameplay. But then I started to see the game for what it really is and what its actually doing.
Im not gonna spoil it for you but i will tell you this so you will know how different it is from uncharted... 80% of the time you'll be crouching and moving slow through the areas, something you never do in Uncharted.
Im sure you already know about the survival aspects and how you have find and craft things, again something you never had to do in Uncharted.
The game is way more slow paced than Uncharted and it doenst have those over the top super cinematic set pieces like uncharted does.
Also you cant jump... lol yeah... now you see how dynamically different in gameplay it really is.
But i didnt know that going in to the game and I felt really frustrated that I wasnt playing a re-skinned Uncharted game (which subconsciously is what i wanted at the time.)

This is exactly what I mean by how hype is scary.
You expect a game to be something incredible.
It isn't what you thought it would be. It leaves a bad taste.
You keep going because reviews said it was 10/10 and you paid $60 for it
You lie to yourself, saying it was all you had ever hoped it would be because 1.it's Sony and an exclusive on their console cannot possibly be bad and 2. you're trying to justify spending all that money on it.

I never hear from anyone why the story is amazing. Its a generic get the girl "from here to there" story line. The player gets told very early on why the girl is so important so you know everything there is to know about the game. Graphics are impressive for the ps3, but there has been far better before it, gameplay is rinse and repeat through out the whole game, crafting is non existent as you can just punch your way through most of the game on its default setting. A.I is laughable and any feelings you may have for the little girl are gone by how stupid her A.I is when you as the player are trying to keep quiet and behind walls etc, she runs around rooms, runs into zombies and human enemies, all the while they do nothing and I'm screaming at the tv that thanks to her I should be dead. At the end when it all went down I felt no emotion by how much of a dumb ass she is, oh and her voice actress sounds like she's in her late 20's, even in game, so your playing the game with a little girl that sounds like shes 29.

that is not what I said at all, but I appreciate you trying to put your troll spin to it
( i dont really appreciate you putting that troll spin to it)

lol, so you're allowed to not like a Naughty Dog game within its first few hours yet when others do so in this thread you go full dumbass.
Never change Nengo.
there is a thread on first page saying TLOU has sold 7 million. I'm sure some haven't played it, but Sony isn't stupid. They know fanboys will buy again, and they have legions, so sell it again.
I bought it day one played it twice and the dlc twice. Great game, wont buy again until like PS5 Ultra 4k 120 FPS grand high exalted HD edition.

i guess you should have finished reading the rest of my comment before desperately trying to bash me.
Like I said... when i started off playing the game I was still in my Uncharted mentality of when is the epic car, plane, train, ship, something on fire, collapsing building going to happen. I was still in that mentality that I can take a wave of 20 enemies in 90 seconds and have an arsenal or weapons to do it with while jumping and rolling around them.
Yeah I was frustrated at first when I found out i was just a regular guy with very little and a area of just 5 guys would take me 4 mins and lose a chunk of health and most of my ammo by the time it was over.
I love the TLoU, I find it way better than Uncharted. Yes, again, I'll admit that i had problems with the gameplay in the begining, but I got it and have loved it ever since. The multiplayer is my addiction.
I have, it's a great game, though it's not the greatest thing ever as some people suggest. Uncharted 2 was a better game in my opinion.
And it has a solid multiplayer no one talks about.

me too. I played it the first day a few hours and stopped. Then some of my friends asked me if it was good. I told them it was an overrated piece of shit and then they never played it.
A few days later I played it till I beat it without any sleep, changed my mind and told them it was incredible but they still did not give a shit for some reason. I really do feel bad for people that never played the finest game of the last generation. The Last of Us is a game changer. Even people that never gave a **** about gaming before, the game changed their perspective about what gaming really is or what it could be.
I really don't understand this whole "it's just an interactive movie argument".
- Each cutscene lasts 3 or 5 minutes max and 90 minutes in total in a game that takes 12-20 hours to finish.
- You can't say it's a quick time event fest cause the bottom prompts only appear when you're trying to open doors or help your companion climb up walls, ladders...ETC. The combat has an actual engaging gameplay mechanics.
- And some people call it "a walking simulator". The combat in the game is very high tense due to the game being a survival horror, it makes perfect sense to have those slow moments to balance the pacing. Plus there are interactive objects to keep the player engaged during those quieter moments.
My love for TLoU never dies.
Bought the original, have beaten it on all difficulties. Bought two Survival Editions (one to enjoy, one to store), and will gladly be getting the PS4 version come soon. I've laid enough effusive praise at its feet so to do anymore would be useless.
Easily one of my favorite games in the past ten years, and in my top ten of all-time. I can see how it wouldn't be for everyone and that's cool, but for me ND hit a note that was needed at the right time. I love this type of game when well done.
Bring on more!
My roomate never owned it for his PS3 so I never got to play it.
I'm not going to buy a console just to play one game, and when a game has that much hype I find it scary. All the cows are just gonna tell me it's the best game ever
you sound........... like a bitch
Well I fell for it when I bought the PS3 for UC and Killzone.
Couldn't bring myself to finish Uncharted 3 so didn't bother with this one. Gameplay doesn't look to very good either.
Uncharted 3 was pretty good. TLOU was much better all around though. There should be a "I played it, thought it was decent but overrated and won't buy it again option."

TC meant for this thread to just be a TLOU praise thread/poll
