Serious topic is serious. Anyways, I've seen a lot of debates about these games. Let's post pics then, and none of that "OMG U CANT RUN IT LIKE THAT" "OMG TOO MUCH MODDING TO DO" "ZOMG I CANT AFFORD A COMPUTER LIKE THAT"

It's mostly subjective. For example, I've made a game that according to you guys has better graphics than Crysis. If you are just counting how much the game needs to process that is. brandontwb

you know tbh i think uncharted 2 looks better. from a technical standpoint crysis is indeed better, but uncharted 2 is being run on some not so great hardware, which seems to have forced the devs to use better technique's. for example, the reflections don't use low density raytracing like crysis (which is a total power hog of a tactic but looks really nice) instead it renders a second camera without reflection or refraction on from the water's point of view at a low resolution and antialiases the crap out of that, then displays it on the water which has an animated displacement map on it, all relatively low power tactics. the result? stuff more like this

see that doesn't have any ugly low poly rocks visible like those crysis screens up above me do. and it has some nice fog and such to boot

Yeah except the problem with this is to play Crysis on such high settings requires a very high end computer. I haven't been looking at computer hardware in a bit, but I'd say you'd need to spend a minimum of $1200 to be able to play Crysis on those settings, while a PS3 is only $300.PhilipV94

Its been over two years since Crysis's release.

Today's hardware goes well beyond it... even budget gaming hardware runs the game very well...

yeah just imagine if Uncharted 2 had a $600 graphics card to power their game. Crysis has amazing graphics, but so does Uncharted 2. And IMO Uncharted 2 is the better looking game.

I was talking about theRADEON HD 5970, to myknowledge its the only graphics card that can run the game at 60fps at 1080p. I can run crysis just fine, but the frame rate never feels smooth.... even thought I average 35+ FPS. IMO the game is badlyoptimized

Well, I certainly don't think that Uncharted 2 has better gfx than Crysis, or 5-6 other PC games for that matter, but it looks damn fine for a console game. I can only imagine what Naughty Dog could do with a 4890 instead of a 7800GT.

you cant have better graphics than crysis on the consoles, you simply cant, its a physical impossibility due to the limited hardware, no amount of optimization in the world will ever make it possible. so this is pointless. all you have to do to see if the game can potentially have better graphics is
