Oh god, I see some of you guys are pulling out the sequel gap issue. This is another aspect of "professional" reviews that bugs the hell out of me.
Judge the product for what it is, not for how long you waited for it.
A reviewer knocking a game for how long it was in development, or how long ago the last entry was, is really no better than some giddy reviewer showering a game because the reviewer in question got caught up in the hype.
I swear, sometimes it seems reviewing games is the only professional job that requires zero professionalism. Just go out there, make an ass of yourself and be a big kid about your job! Never admit when you're wrong, be clearly biased and most importantly make factually wrong assertions to showcase that you didn't even take the time to do your job properly.
