Why would it alter the score? WHat does Inferno add that changes the gameplay on a fundamental level? A harder difficulty certainly equates to differences in tactics (especially with a game such as this), but what constitutes a higher score?

Well you see reviewers don't exactly have the time to play games on the highest/harder settings, they have jobs and other games to review. So they just play through it the best they can and give you their opinion on the game.

That is the key word here, opinion. You don't have to like theirs but you shouldn't get pissed off at them. If you like the game then that's all that matters. Besides, I don't see what your getting upset about. 8.5 is an amazing score, it means you should buy it.

Diablo 3 is crap, which is why its user score rating is sitting at 7.5 and doomed to sink even lower. That score is amassed by almost 2,500 user scores, BTW. Only thing I'm afraid of is I heard from someone that there is no SP to the game, it's only MP. That is very disappointing to me.

No. You can single player the story or you can invite others into your game or join others to play through the story. PvP is coming soon.

Everyone and their mother loves to hate Diablo 3 nowadays it's the new big boy act. I personally think that Diablo deserved a better score but what do I know right. Also Gamespot is known to give lower scores to hyped games in order to increase site traffic (especially the forums). So it wouldn't matter if the reviewer played inferno or not the score would be the same.

As for the so called fail of the Diablo, the biggest games have the biggest hater groups usually, so that says something about the game. People who are geniunely dissapointed by the Diablo 3 must have had unrealistic expectations from a Diablo game. Except the online drm being a pain in the ass I honestly can't imagine a better continuation of the series.

I have Diablo 2 with the expansions already. I used to play the hell out of them every night with buds, and I was hoping to get back into with Diablo 3 once I got some personal stuff sorted out and had the time to upgrade my PC a little.

Only thing I was worried about was the no SP thing, but apparently you can play by yourself. I hear there are some server issues, but that's nothing that a quick patch can't fix I'm sure.

Overall it doesn't matter, all this is your opinion. And the game got pretty high reviews (opinions) by people. 8.5 is a good score, I don't see the problem here?

Inferno wasnt meant to be beaten in a few weeks, its meant to be beaten in MANY months of grinding. You really want them to wait MONTHS before putting out a review? Where is your business sense?? Plus they saw all the content. The content doesnt change at all...same bosses, same mobs (with more properties), same story etc.
