That's the only game you list that I would be interested in playing and I am not buying a console to just play one game. The system lacks third party support, has last gen tech, a tablet controller that I have no interest in using, and crappy online (sure it is free, but who cares when it is crap).

Still not really. Nintendo's console games appeal a lot less to me than their handheld games. With SSB coming to 3DS, not sure I'll ever have a reason to buy one.

@HalcyonScarlet:

i lost intrest in gaming and got rid of my ps3 the wrong time,i missed out on few good games and bc it was just sitting there i decided to trade it for a wii u man what a mistake that was.

the wii u is nothing but utter shite..games are rehash anfter rehash typical nintendo lameness..stuck in the past.

the ui is rubbish its so slow so damn slow its pathetic actualy.

the store has nothing worth a dl plus every peice of crap on there is priced silly...i couldnt get rid of it quick enough..i put it on a gift card in game and plan on putting it toward a next gen console..think i got about 150 quid for it..jokes on them lol

@KungfuKitten: What is wrong with the pro controller?

I am considering getting one for 3D world, but now I am not sure anymore. Also, does classic controller pro work with the Wii U?

And here we see how SW 'gamers' play only the 'mature' generic FPS games. Core gamers my arse.

Ghost Trick: That is not the kind of game I play.
SMW3D: That is not interesting.
Professor Layton: Doesn't appeal to me.
Golden Sun: lol handheld games.
Bayonetta 2: Well it was never good.
Tribes Ascend: Never heard of it.
Titanfall: OMG gonna be so gud.

Right. Very convincing.

The classic controller pro works on the VC and when you are playing Wii games. There really is no reason that it couldn't work on Wii U games, but to my knowledge, there isn't a game that uses it.

I think the pro controller is great, fwiw. It's jut not as good as the tablet.

The Pro is OK. I have one actually. But it feels kinda cheap compared to a DS4 controller and really I think the standard tablet controller feels better than the Pro. The thing in itself is not bad, but I don't think that it would add much of anything to your experience.
SMW3D co-op is probably the only OK reason to buy one.

Ahh ok, thanks.

I will probably get the controller pro then. Not that there is anything wrong with the tablet, but rather, because me and my brother are gonna play co-op in Super Mario 3D World.

I didn't think that would work, but I looked it up and apparently it does. Still, if you don't already own a classic controller pro, I would recommend just going with a Wii U Pro controller. I would expect more new games to support that controller than the classic pro, plus you don't have to worry about keeping AA batteries charged with it.

@PurpleMan5000: Edited my post. But yes, I am leaning heavily on getting the Wii U Controller pro now. And AA Batteries can run out at the most inopportune of moments, happened several times in Dark Souls already >.>.

When you do that with the PS4, that leaves zero games. That actually is nothing.

Nah, Only games worth playing on Wii U that are exclusive are Lego CIty Undercover, Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World and The Wonderful 101. The rest of that list is either multiplatform games, mediocore rehashes or HD ports.

I would've picked a Wii U up if it wasn't for Dangan Ronpa making me buy a Vita.

I'll buy it next year when almost everything I want will be out by then.

Exclusively, only Killzone and Resogun. Wii U has a couple more but in reality if someone wants a bang for their buck, they should stick to buying a PS3, 3DS or Vita. Those systems have had a good amount of exclusives this year and are not as expensive.

I agree that a 3DS or a PS3 (or even a Vita) are better purchases, but I am also assuming that most people here already own a PS3 or a 3DS and are looking to purchase a new console, in which case, the Wii U is the most significantly attractive proposition of the three.

Why are we comparing WiiU's lineup to a system that just launched? Considering all of the 3rd party and indie support that the PS4 has plus its great 1st party, Its pretty damn obvious that PS4's overall library will surpass WiiU's in a matter of months.

Why did we spend a year comparing the Wii U's lineup to Xbox 360 and PS3?

Yes, exactly.

I actually agree with your title, but that's not saying much. NONE of them to me are worth it right now, but the WiiU is a little bit more worth the purchase only because of its head start.

Lol. Okay, I concede that Xbox 360, PS3, and hell, even Wii are better purchases.

But Wii U is the best purchase among the new generation machines.

I just got mine, got the 32GB Deluxe with New Super Mario/Luigi U on disc, and got Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, and Wonderful 101 with it, and also piking up Mario 3D Land in a few days. That should give me enough to play to buy me enough time to save up for an X1 in time to get Titanfall.

just actually looked at some of the games today for the first time and I gotta say, im impressed! theres 4 or 5 games that have a score above 90 and I actually wanna play them. rayman, pikmin, zelda, super mario 3d world, new super mario bros U... I was so shocked to see all those games get amazing scores and no one seems to talk about them. I actually might have to pick one of these bad boy's up. just a question though, can I seriously play ANY game with my tv off and just use the controller? So playing super mario 3d while someone else watches tv? or is it only on select games?

The only must have game there is Super Mario 3D World. I'd say if you're interested in the console wait until you spot a great deal (around $200ish)

Nintendo will fail because they have no variety.

Lego City can jump off a bridge - it's got nothing on GTA 5 and that has nothing to do with the mature content.

Most games support Off TV Play (and every game that you listed does); some do not, like ZombiU. Generally, it is a good idea to look at the back of the game you are buying, if it says 'Off TV Play' or 'Gamepad Play,' that means you can play it entirely on your Gamepad. If it doesn't, you can't.

But yes, Rayman, Pikmin, New Super Mario Bros. U. Zelda, Super Mario 3D World, can all be played on the controller without the TV, so you're good there :)

Yeah. If we were to talk about last Gen consoles as well, the ps3 would be the superb choice imo.

I really wish a console had that feature when I was living with my parents. Now living by myself it's absolutely useless.

just actually looked at some of the games today for the first time and I gotta say, im impressed! theres 4 or 5 games that have a score above 90 and I actually wanna play them. rayman, pikmin, zelda, super mario 3d world, new super mario bros U... I was so shocked to see all those games get amazing scores and no one seems to talk about them. I actually might have to pick one of these bad boy's up. just a question though, can I seriously play ANY game with my tv off and just use the controller? So playing super mario 3d while someone else watches tv? or is it only on select games?

Most games support Off TV Play (and every game that you listed does); some do not, like ZombiU. Generally, it is a good idea to look at the back of the game you are buying, if it says 'Off TV Play' or 'Gamepad Play,' that means you can play it entirely on your Gamepad. If it doesn't, you can't.

But yes, Rayman, Pikmin, New Super Mario Bros. U. Zelda, Super Mario 3D World, can all be played on the controller without the TV, so you're good there :)

thats actually amazing! I'm definitely going to look into buying one. especially because I heard a donkey kong game is coming next year too! holy shit its looking amazing right now to me. a wii u with an xbox one for me is probably what I'm gonna be getting.

but I seriously cant believe the high scores so many wii u games are getting and I barely see any threads about it. 5 games that I want all scored 90 and above, what more can I ask for

I really wish a console had that feature when I was living with my parents. Now living by myself it's absolutely useless.

Your TV isn't in your bathroom.
