NO, no other Beta have ever kept me this long it's usually just Firmware updates that take 30min downloads. Socom 4 oh god.........10 hour update. Go try it for yourself and come back

it took need for speed shift 2 a half hour to be playable when i went to my buddys place to see it last night. this morning when my 360 copy came in i put it in and was racing in less than a minute.
the new test drive was even worse 40 min update 20 min hdd install.
psn being lame is pretty much old news.
i avoid it if it's possible when it's not i just deal with it.
Wow.. People always blame the download, not their ISP... I had the SOCOM beta downloaded, installed, updated and playable in about 40 minutes with my 20mbps broadband line... Even at that my area only supports 5mbps but with the 20mb deal i get unlimited broadband. My PSN downloads are usually 500kbps+.

I want your internet. The internet i have usually maxes out around 200 kbps so downloads of games are really slow, even on PC. Darkspore took me small 14 hours to download. it was a pain.

3 hours now @ 47% aweful awefulSounds to me like you have a slow connection. My 20MB line DL it in under 40 minutes.

if it was my isp then dls would take long on my pc and xbox but they are not. i have tried everything like opening ports and hardwiring the ps3 and nothing helps. the isp argument is just not true.
Most Betas have these issues. Just wait through it or leave it on overnight. The beta is well worth the wait, great game.

i have 20 meg i get 2000kbps+ on everything but PSN
That sounds a rather ridiculous time to wait to play the game. Having said that, it's a beta, you have to expect a large number of updates even if you don't think you should have to wait this long. Remember that it's a privilege to be part of the beta, I wouldn't mind waiting that long to play a game early.
this is just a beta! i can almost garantee you that when the retail comes out there wont be any installs and updates or any waiting. you can just pop in the game and play, in my eyes

it didnt take too long for me, i had the ps3 on while it downloaded the beta, and updates while I went to work, came back on my hour break and it was done,..I dont know how long it took, but it was less than 4 hours for me. and the beta seems more like MAG to me.. but I still kinda like it.
