SOCOM II was the BEST online game last gen

imo SOCOM was the COD of last gen. i dont know any other game that was more fun, more addicting then socom 2. even tho SOCOM Confrontation was poorly made, got rated 6.5, i dont touch any other of my games. if the reviewers would rate confronation now i bet it would get like a 7.5/8 but hey, developers shouldnt count on patches all the time to get a game rite. a game should be well made and ready to go before it is released...Slant Six...Slant SUX:twisted:....so heres to Zipper, the developers of the amazing socom series and we hope that after they finish working on MAG that they will make the next socom game......o and slant six, where is the patch you promised us like a year ago? lol.......plz, god plz, dont make another game agian, you guys are bad even tho confrontation is the only game i play lol

A Socom 2 HD Remake would be amazing and yes TC I totally agree with you.

If they would make it HD, add some physics, it would be a great game on the PS3.

I would feel the same way... if I only had a PS2. Luckily, I owned every system, so it never got much of my game time.

I have to go with Halo 2 here.

If we are talking online only, Halo 2 is probably the most fun I have ever had in a game.

While I don't think Confrontation is the best game in the series by any means, it still craps all over the turds that are SOCOM 3 and Combined Assault, even in its current form, IMO. The hit detection in SOCOM 3 was atrocious, some of the maps were WAY too big for 32 players and not as fun to play as the maps in the two games before it, and the vehicles were a joke. The fact that most of the community went back to SOCOM II while those other two games died is testament to that. Confrontation fixes pretty much all of those problems. The hit detection is straight from SOCOM 1, and the maps, although there aren't many of them, are a decent size and much better designed.

Zipper made 2 great games and 2 stinkers IMO, so I've never got why people swing on their nuts so much.

A few of my friends were some hardcore SOCOM II gamers, I remember they were on it all day and night. It was the best online game for the PS2, but Halo and Xbox Live came along and just set the bar for online gaming for consoles.

Yeah. I tried getting into Halo, but it did not last. SOCOM played the way I wanted a shooter to play.

People just enjoyed Halo 2 more because it was much easier. The game had intensive auto aim and magnatism for christ sake. I don't understand how people take pride in such games. But on topic, SOCOM 1 and 2 are even better than online games today. Remember folks, without socom 1 and 2, console online shooters wouldn't be the same.

No way, for me it was RainbowSix 3 and then Black Arrow. I had previous experience of playing some PC shooters prior but without a headset I never really appreciated the social side of online multiplayer.

On Xbox Live, I have fond memories of settingup evening matches, a few of us regulars playing into the early hours. The lobby system was great, joining a room with friends, organising teams, arguing over who got which kill the round before. The games and maps were very tactical, no respawns and so going in gung-ho meant a 5 minute wait till next round. No game, that generation beat that experience for me.

Confrontation is really good now.

Also go on N4G.com, theyve got rumors that now MAG is pretty much done theyremaking SOCOM4, with a single player campaign and such =D

9847 unique players over the last 24 hours logged in and played 17167 matches of halo 2. Yeah i think we know who was and still is the king of last gen online multiplayer.

Halo 2, like, by FAR. No other game held a candle to it IMO. Some of the greatest multiplayer maps ever designed, and the glitches were awesomesauce. Halo 3 did everything better than Halo 2, except the maps. Halo 3's maps suck IMO-RocBoys9489-

Was always in a Top 10 clan on Gamebattles, wrecked LuMiNoSiTy...those were the days.
