Except providing wider market exposure for many games that don't get a marketing budget that could feed an African village, such as the entire Walmart stock, as well as continued support of even those titles after a few months. Used games profit helps keep the open when they get a rather insulting slice of every new game. Don't get me wrong, GameStop is not flawless or faultless here, but it is a Frankenstein's monster of the industries creation, and the brick and mortar specialty stores are still very nessessary to drive video games to a wider audience. Not fully on board there. This industry has become the biggest Entertainment industry at times. What exposure are those titles getting that say they aren't at WalMart? I only see heavy hitters with big stand up displays at gamestop. I never saw a demons souls display, but there sure was for uncharted3, halo4, cod whatever. Is gamestop a complete negative? No, and if that's what you took from my first post oh well. But used games are not fueling the gaming industry, they fuel retail industry and retail isn't trying to develop new games.
I would absolutely love to see Microsoft fall on their face and bow out of the industry. It would make room for someone else, and just about anyone would be better than Microsoft.

Asking if anyone wants to see Nintendo/Sony fail is asking a question that you already know the answer to. It's like asking if 2 + 2 is 4 or if I'm the best poster SW's ever seen. All these things are common knowledge there's no reason to go over them

Microsoft looks at their gaming division as a trojan horse so that they can one day take everything you enjoy doing at home and put it behind a paywall. They shut down studios that make fantastic games like Ensemble, and they turned one of the best developers in the biz, Rare, into a studio that only makes Kinect sports games in less than a decade. They are a cancer on the industry that has already spread into Sony (see pay for online play), but they are still mostly operable at this point. We just have to not buy the Xbone.
I am really upset that tacos wasn't an option. I chose waffles but I don't feel my real feelings are represented in this poll. Please delete this thread and start a new one with tacos as an option.
I dont want any next gen consoles. With that said I would like sony and Nintendo to flop. I got over the whole japan obsession more than a decade ago. Nothing good comes from japan besides capacitors and blade steel. Sure do love my spyderco's!

First of all, the choices are ridiculous. Where is the "NO" answer? lol!! I don't want any console to fail. With great competition comes great games. For me, it's always been about the games and not the hardware. Sony, Nintendo & Microsoft only care about your wallets and how much money they can make. Neither one of these companies are going anywhere soon. All the doom and gloom haters have no idea what they are talking about.

I've wanted to see Nintendo fail since the N64, I'm tired of their backwards lazy practices, it would be much better for gamers if they were just a developer. Before MS reversed their policies I wanted them to fail, I would like to see them do much worse than Sony but I would never want there to be only one console maker. Having none at all would be nice.
Nope, I don't want any gaming company to fail, it is my favorite hoby and to lose a major player like MS would be a huge blow to theindustry. Just not smart for any gamer to want no matter how much they dislike the company. Like them or not, MS put a lot of money into the gaming industry and create even more.
hell no, if Sony had no competition they'd have no desire to improve. Take the NFL EA franchise, as soon as they phased out the 2K games Madden went to crap.
