How is our sex toy shaped motion controller doing?

I see a lot of Kinect talk but no PsMove talk. Why?Are there no games? Is it failing?
I don't know.

So,what's up with this thing?

It was fun for table tennis... Otherwise it seems to be a total failure.

I'm enjoying it with R3 right now ... Not sure how its doing overall but it seems compatible with plenty of high profile games so I'm happy.

It can be fun with certain games.

I think overall the whole 'motion detection' idea is getting pretty played out.

They're putting too much effort into putting Move support into games that don't need it, like Resistance or Killzone. What we need is a surge of Move-only games that actually take advantage of the hardware instead of just games that are better with a gamepad.

Let's put this in perspective:

Move:

2.5 million units sold = first month

4.1 million units sold = first two months

8.8 million units sold = first nine months

Kinect:

2.5 million units sold = first month

8 million units sold = first two months

10 million units sold = first four months

It looks like both platforms are tapering off in terms of sales.

But both games are actually fun with Move, I'd rather them keep putting Move support into games I'm gonna buy regardless instead of them putting any focus on Move specific games.

Actually what is fun is that tech had some how stop at that figure,i haven't see any more sales numbers since that, and i haven't see any more Kinect sales since that either, which tell me both are just as doom,MS and sony are hiding the numbers now to not show how much they fail with each tech, and how many where right about not been standard like the wii and be destine to fail.

There arent really that many Move only games that would be really that good. Just a few. I really wanted to play Sorcery but I havent seen any info on that for a long time so I believe it was cancelled. I dont like playing shooters with it and so theres not much coming for it. As a tech it really works well and it is precise but not many games use it to its full potencial.

If Move compatible games count, so do Kinect compatible games at the end of the day, (Forza 4, Ghost Recon, Mass Effect 3 for ex.). Obviously there is more to it when it's Move compatible than Kinect compatible since it's actually a new form of control rather than some added feature with voice or hand waving though, but still.:P

If those numbers are accurate, looks like Move tapered off some, but is selling at a steady pace, but kinect basically died after the second month. That's assuming those numbers are accurate though.

I like the Move because you can play core games with it =]. Killzone 3, SOCOM 4, RE5, and Resistance 3 have Move support. Yeeeaahh and Infamous 2 will have it later this month. For me, it's about playing games that I care about in a new way.

At the rate Xboxes are selling right now, I'm pretty sure it's 2:1 in Kinect to Move sales right now. Still an assumption though.:P

Exactly! That's the only reason I bought it ... I figured whats the harm I'm gonna buy these games regardless so why not try to play them in a different way. I played and beat R3 the first time with my gamepad now on my second play through co oping with Sanim I'm playing it with my Move controls and it feels like a slight different experience and I'm enjoying it.

I think it's cool. Its like have a Wii-mote for PS3 games lol. Why wouldn't you like that as an option? I think they should make more games for it though... =/

Eh, I was on the edge of buying Move. But in the end there aren't enough supported games. I'd like to try Killzone 3 and Resistance 3 with it but I won't buy Move + Sharpshooter just for 2 games.

Considering that MS a company who love to play with sales figures and number to make see they doing great i doubt it,they hype 8 million and 10 million, but since early march 2011,MS went into a silent crusade with Kinect numbers,in fact you see them parade 360 sales basically monthly when NPD comes out,but Kinect not even on E3 which is were they show numbers ans stats,if like the tech stagnated hard. The first 4 months they sold 8 million, but it took them another 2 months to reach 10,which mean the sales dropped quite hard, and probably had continue to do so.

Ultimately, I don't care if motion control stays around as long as it does not become the mandatory control scheme for every game. Controllers definitely have their place.

I think the number are pretty impressive. If PS3 & 360 are currently on like 50 million sales (last time I heard it was about 50 million), then that implies that around 1/5th of the install base owns the peripherals.

I see a lot of Kinect talk but no PsMove talk. Why?Are there no games? Is it failing?

I think it sold around 8 million units or something like that.

Certainly not many core gamers want anything to do with it :P It's not that it doesn't work, there just aren't any games for it.

I still see no reason to fork over $100 for it.

I simply don't care for it, and i'm glad sony isn't focusing heavily on it like MS is doing. I've noticed that they're just implementing Move functions in some games.
