sold my wii today for.......

orange box, warhawk, and tekken 5 online for the PS3.and 11 blu-ray movies. i have been a big supporter of nintendo over the years and enjoyed galaxy, prime 3, and zach and wiki for the wii. i sold my wii to a woman at the mall for her 2 little boys for $330. i had 8 VC games downloaded, a wii sports case i got from ebay and a classic controller that she got with it. i traded the rest of the games at gamestop. for some reason i hate the wii. when i had my 360 i never played it. once i got my PS3....I never played it.

my 360 RROD on me a few weeks ago. the PS3 is amazing once you invest time in it. i have uncharted, ratchet, motorstorm, COD4,and the above mentioned games. i also have unreal tourney 3............a halo killer. but im really thinking of getting another 360 with an hd-dvd add on. i have my hd movies still from the last time i had a 360.

honest opinions please. does it make sense to have a 360 and a PS3? it would have to be my last purchase for a good while and would only be able to get 3 or 4 games. my live account is still active thank goodness and i think forza comes with the system. or should i be happy with one good system that pretty much has the same games the 360 has and just get an hd dvd player for $198.00. at best buy?

I have both PS3/360. Definitely worth it. Alot of titles that are exclusive to each platform in the future. Two best to own in terms of upcoming exclusives andamount of great titlesIMO. Great picks btw. I'd also recommend Ninja Gaiden Sigma, great game. Puckhog04

It doesn't make sense not to have a PS3 seriously, MGS alone is worth it, Killzone2, Haze, Final Fantasy, God of War 3, Socom Confrontation, Grand Tourismo 5, Time Crisis 4, hell their is also Home coming out.

Er... I might be biased, but when the New York Times says something is the "must have" toy on the market for the second year in a row, I think you could've gotten a bit more money for it. :P

Seriously though, there're more games than that. It's too bad you had to sell it... but, whatever. It's your choice.

Many many more PS3 titles i could list that are exclusive next year but, really, you probably wouldn't bother so no point.

Yea, everyone has their own opinions. For me there is literally no reason to own a Wii seeing as multiplat titles are always best played on PS3/360 and there are alot more exclusives coming to the PS3/360 worthwhile to me. That and SMG alone isn't worth the console. I need more Nintendo titles worth playing that Zelda and SMG (already beat Zelda on a buddies Wii). It's overpriced as well considering the console's hardware.

PS3/360 are a great combo imo. There are a lot of great games on the PS3, but if you listen to the fanbots you will think different. There are great exclusives for both. Next year is a must own for both consoles. I'm a gamer not a fanbot so owning a PS3 was inevitable since I love a lot of the franchises on the PS3 same with the 360. How can anybody call themselves a gamer yet exclude themselves from a large majority of great games from either the 360 or PS3? People seem to forget Xbox had a rocky start and so did the 360 first year, PS3 is no different! In a couple of years no one will remember how crappy each launch was. Most hardcore gamers will buy both imo but honestly I could careless how any of them sell I'm not getting a cut? So if it makes you happy congrats, that's all that matters!H3llstrike

Well I call myself a gamer and I only own a PS3. Why? Because I paid 1200$ for it incl. extra controller and resistance. Today I am buying a 42" full hd tv. That's another 1500$ right there. I can't afford to buy a 360 and games for it also. Sometimes you gotta choose, even if I would sell my own mom just to play Mass Effect. Thing is, no one wants to buy her....:|

it makes sense to own even all three. it's great. i sometimes have too much choice.... shall i play Uncharted, Galaxy, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Halo3 online, Heavenly Sword, Medal of H:Wii, etc..

If i were to buy 1 system today it would still be a 360. but just because it still has so many great games compared to Ps3 at this point in time. In Decmeber 2008 i would probably say PS3.

i'm just glad i got all three.

to the creator of the thread if you are really going to buy the hd-dvd add on to the 360 DONT its rated as one of the worst hd-dvd players, just get a stand alone at best buy for 150 bucks. but you'll have to throw it away in a year when blu-ray takes over.

Haze? Killzone 2? The only game that i would get for ps3 is MGS4, I'm certain it will be an awesome game but im not buying a ps3 just for that! GT5 should be good and GOW3 but not worth spending the money on a ps3.

To be fair, it doesnt exaclty have the best library.

Assuming he kept his 360. I would have said The Wii exclusives far outway the exclusives for the PS3 right now.

As for future lineup, thats potential and on paper is the only place where PS3 has more potential. There are still X factors such as the chance of a flood of japanese developed games being released for the wii because of its success.

Im just saying the PS3 is still slacking, i personally wont be buying it until Metal Gear Solid 4.jg4xchamp

I wasn't talking about exclusives though, just generally speaking. PS3 > Wii right now in overall games (and yes, I know it's subjective people, don't bite my head off), and Wii > PS3 in exclusives right now, but both systems are worth owning and "it makes sense" to own either.

But yeah, I agree 2008 is probably the best time to buy a PS3, lots of nice games coming.

I think you made a good choice, my Wii doesn't get much play compared to my PS3. The motion controls work on PS3 just as well. Try the bowling game or Motorstorm. Just as good as Wii Bowling and Motorstorm destroys Excitetruck. I still of like analog controls more though.
