Some of you guys are too hyped about Crysis 2!

Just because Crysis was the best looking game this gen so far, this does not mean that Crysis 2 will be the best looking CONSOLE game this gen. Given that we have seen precious little full HD footage (if any?) I am amazed that so many are jumping on the bandwagon and claiming the new console graphics king.

I predict the game will look stellar on the PC and good on the consoles... but some of you are expecting far far too much.

Then explain how it defeated Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 in Gamespot's Best Shooter of the Year award?

But TC isn't your complaint the same situation as KZ 2. People were hyped for even worse reasons. I never expected it would be bad, but given the last game on the PS2, I was confused as to why it was getting hyped so hard and graphics seemed the only reason pre-release for the hype.

Crysis 2 is gonna have great graphics and great gameplay, the first one is a really good game. Don't know about graphics king, but if any multiplat dev can do it, it's Crytek, so it will be interesting to see how this turns out.

But honestly, I couldn't care less about graphics king. As long as a game looks good enough to meet its needs then its good enough for me. I still don't understand why people say Batman AA isn't a good looking game.

I would help but i'm still trying to understand how MGS4 beat Crysis Warhead for graphics. :?

I think its rightfully hyped. I mean look at the previous game crytek has come out with, all stellar games. Will be playing on pc, but its a good thing that its on consoles so people can understand why hermits said crysis was so good both graphically and gameplay wise instead of pretending they played the game.

I prefer to wait until the game is actually out. If I think it's as good as Crytek thinks it is, then I'll be the one doing the hyping not them.

I dont see anyone hyping it really. Smart move to port it to consoles though.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the best looking console and PC game when it's released. As long as the gameplay is built upon from the first (ie, use of nanosuit etc), i'm gonna be one happy camper.

It's just lemmings desperate attempt to prove PS3 and xbox360 are equal or even more rediclious that xbox360 is more powerful. Whenever you see a so-called hardcore "herment" taking a feirce argument stance that this game will somehow be console graphics king and or better on 360 and Gfx king...you know they are just desperate lemmings being fakeboys.

Simple facts:

PS3 is more powerful than xbox360, it has higher potential and they are NOT the same. People arguing that they are the same are just xbox fanboys who can't stand the turth. If Crytek dose somehow manage to push the PS3 above it's other console exclusives the same will not be true for xbox360 because xbox360 can't do the PS3 top exclusives in the first place becaue it dosen't have the hardware that help make those PS3 exclusives.

It's not like Crytek are starting from scratch. They already have their engine in place and proper optimization just has to be done.

Crysis = CryEngine 2

Crysis 2 = CryEngine 3

So we already know the visuals will be an upgrade.

*EDIT* If you meant for consoles, then yeah I also believe people are hyping them up way too high. But for the PC it should look great.

Crytek has the most advanced engine on the market, their past games have been steller, and Crysis 2 is going to be multiplat, so everybody can play it. Why wouldn't people be hyped?

Have you ever played Far Cry 1? The best thing about that game was the open world nonlinear shooter gameplay. The story was laughable, but endearing, and the graphics were great, but Half Life 2 and Doom 3 looked just as good for what they did. Far Cry sold on it's gameplay, and people kept replaying it because of its gameplay.

Crysis, on the other hand was undisputed graphics king when it came out, but it also incorporated a much better story and cinematic qualities, while maintaining much of what made far cry special, gameplay wise.

I predict loads of hype for this game before it comes out then load of threads after it comes out with people moaning they dont like this game and why have it been hyped.

Crysis 2 will be the best looking game ever, and you can sig me on that and claim ownage for the rest of this gen. Ofcourse it will look much, much better on the PC but knowing what Crytek is capable of, this game will not disappoint console-fans either. Crysis 2 is built around each platform respectively so all power available will be put to use. Crytek knows how to utilize hardware, and all Spus in the cell is put to full work load according to Cevat.

I'm fully aware that Cows just wished this abomination of a game never existed. But my advice to you is to just go out buy Crysis 2 for your PS3 and enjoy it. Sitting around bickering like old bi*ches all day and you will truly miss out on something spectacular coming your way.

The hype is more due to ownage on ps3 fanboys than about the game itself...which speaks volumes about this board. Sad and pathetic.

Even though the PC version will support more technical features, Hermits will hate the game for being dumbed down to meet console specs.

Cows will hate the game because it will burst the Sony propaganda bubble once and for all.

Lemmings will love the game for the same reason Cows hate the game.

A lot of haters will buy the game nevertheless.

This is the first time ive been hyped for a crytek game. For some reason, the Concrete Jungle setting just really appeals to me
