[QUOTE="AlphaGamer469"]So we're supposed to accept an obvious fanboys opinions over the facts in Wikipedia? Welcome to SW....senses_fail_06
Do you even understand how ironic that is? Wikipedia is a community governing site, which may or may not include any type of fact.

Sorry, but your 'argument' or lack thereof are fail. Your opinions mean nothing. You say PSN is better but the majority of gamers disagree. Every multiplat owner I personally know agree that XBL >>>>> PSN. Before you spew out more of your jaded opinions try backing them up with links...

[QUOTE="senses_fail_06"][QUOTE="ps3weee"]PSN cant even compare to Xbox live , PSN is purest crap. Live has more content , Better freind communication opitions and MOvie rental support that is awesome. I Pay 50 dollars for a year , Its nothing to cry aboute. You get what you pay for ,, also we often get free map packs from MS like for Geow. ps3weee

Better friend communications? Explain. We know XBL has more content(one year early launch), and Sony has already implemented movie support as well. Oh and you got two free maps(old bones was garbage by the way and Raven Down was just a little square that was only good for shotgun battles), and I'm sure MS was pissed about it because they MADE, yes MADE Cliffy make users pay for something he wanted to give away.

remove all content that was reales for xboxlive before PS realesed , Live got Way more demos , downloadable trailers and overallcontent even if you dont count the first year. It destroys PSN when it comes to content.

Sony has implemented movie support ? If you have used live , Compare the support of movie rentals and series that Xbox live got to the poor suport of Psn, IN this part to Xbox destroys PSN.

6 maps for free for Geow

Get ready to enhance your Gears of War multiplayer experience. Download the four new maps today, including Bullet Marsh, Garden, Process, and Subway. Cost: 0 MS points

and

Map pack 1 with Raven down and old bones, They are not garbage , they both fun maps and I am sure there is more free maps to come with Geow 2.

Exclusive Fallout and Gta 4 content.

Can you invite Friends to a game you are playing from Psn and are there rooms for Chating With your friends only and the people you choose while in the middle of a game with Psn ? I am not sure , I havent Used the PSN chat but My friends say its garbage but I have Checked out PSN and the content that was there to download was nothing compared to xboxlive.

Don't forget the Netflix intergration, where you can download a movie and then invite your XBL friends to watch the movie online. Can you do that with the PSN movie service?

I have a hard time believing that live got that much more stuff...do we have any real numbers behind this? Also most trailers can be found on the internet weather it be gametrailers or not....and you can acces this through the PS3's browser.

Sony just started doing movies since E3, of course it will have more.

The Gears map pack was pay for over 6 months. 800 points for the 4 maps.

That's a plus, but please don't call it exclusive if it eventually comes to the PC.

Not sure what you're asking in the last one, but yes you can private chat someone seperately.

Well there is one free map pack with two maps. AND another free map pack with four maps. The Herioic Map Pack for Halo 3 is now free, and Bungie put out another map for free. The Legendary Map Packs will probably become free some way down the road. Looking at the Resistance maps they still cost money.

I am not sure abou the current movie line up, but I think XBL has a better selection of TV shows to watch. Also when XBL gets Netflix that would be a major plus for having a Gold Account.

1. XBL does have nice downloadable content, that Microsoft does buy....but what other titles that have exclusive content? Only two have been mentioned.

2. Doesn't work, I've continuously been in room where I have avoided people on my list...Gears and Rainbow Six Vegas on both occasions.

3. System is abused by it's own users, and people who do actually violate the rules hardly ever get punished.

4. MSN? completely useless and uncomfortable especially using a control pad...or you could pay an extra $35 for the keypad. :|. Besides, it's completely drawved by Sony's full internet browser.

5-6. Are both complete Bull, how many games have you actually played that pair you evenly. I know the big games like CoD4, Vegas, Vegas 2, and Gears do not. I believe Halo does, but it's matchmaking is more based on your in game ranking.

7-8. That's absolutely useless, and I can't believe it's actually being used as a plus for xbl. Major Nelson are Trixie are both very annoying as well.

9. Call Sony support, they'll help you.

10. Cool, I'll believe it when I see it.

Dont care whether you 'like' the features, or whether they have 'worked' in your own experiences. Fact remains, they are a part of XBL, and not PSN, so theres a few reasons XBL is better. What exactly does PSN do that XBL doesnt? A web browser? Is that it? lol.

Nope, I can't do that. You know what I can do though? I can download Tekken: DR and give it to 5 of my friends(for them to keep, forever) and play with them for free over PSN. You can't even let a guest play the full version of the game on a different account .

Such defensiveness. I'm simply saying that while you are not paying for PSN service and getting it for "Free" Sony is somehow recouping the loss through other means, whether it be game prices, increase in accessory costs, etc. Something. It's business, they are going to make money off you somehow.

Nothing is free. I'm not debating PSN topic really, just in general that nothing is free. Basic economics.

(edited: spelling)

senses_fail_06

Game prices are on par with Microsoft and almost all accessories can be found cheaper because you can use third party accessories. The argument is moot, and yes I'm defensive...but it is my topic and what kind of fun would it be if I wasn't:wink:.

not in Europe, xbox 360 games in europe are 5-10 euro cheaper note: 5= 7.8 dollars and 10 euro= 15 dollars

I mentioned what it has better in the first post. You can use a very basic form of MSN, I can send full functioned emails on my ps3. You can get in with the community on xbl, while I actual interact and trade with them..customizing and sharing themes and full featured games. My $50 a year can go to new, unique PSN titles like LBP or Loco Roco, while yours goes to poor P2P servers. Oh and without using Wikipedia, what exactly do you think is better about XBL.

The only problem with trading your account infromation to get free games is you are trading your account infromation. Giving away your personal infromation is never a good idea.

XBL messenger >> PS3 web based messenger. Like i said, you can use custom wallpapers as themes on XBL. Not as much customisation as PSN themes, but the idea is still there. Both PSN and XBL use both P2P and dedicated servers. No argument there.

XBL is a unified services. Example, i want to play online MGO? Have to sign up for a Konami ID and a Game ID through their website. What a pain. Not to mention the game has a separate friends list.

Anyway, you constantly bring up being able to customise themes but that has nothing to do with PSN. Thats more like a feature of the PS3 OS. So like i said, what exactly does PSN do that XBL doesnt? Other than provide a not-so-good web browser.

Ok, I'll give you that...MS does have better Movie/Tv support right now. But if I really wanted to, I could go onto the PS3's web browser and watch a lot of free legal movies and go to youtube to see Tv shows.

You did for now(the maps are over a year old), when Gears 2 gets new maps you'll have to pay.

Still wouldn't be exclusive and the Fallout 3 content is coming to PC...already confirmed.

Well there is one free map pack with two maps. AND another free map pack with four maps. The Herioic Map Pack for Halo 3 is now free, and Bungie put out another map for free. The Legendary Map Packs will probably become free some way down the road. Looking at the Resistance maps they still cost money.

I love PSN but you can't deny the awesomeness of XBL. Sure, I have silver but the reason for that is that the 360 is in my bro's room so I can't play as much as say the PS3 (my room).

Anyway, I would love for XBL to be free like PSN but I don't see that happening. I think PSN will be on par with XBL in late 2009.

1. XBL does have nice downloadable content, that Microsoft does buy....but what other titles that have exclusive content? Only two have been mentioned.

Prove it, we're going by facts here not your biased fanboy opinion. Point is we get extra DLC and PSN does not. I'll grant the GTA content was payed for,i don't see that as a problem however.

2. Doesn't work, I've continuously been in room where I have avoided people on my list...Gears and Rainbow Six Vegas on both occasions.

Rainbow Six Vegas and Gears of war do *not* use matchmaking, they give you a list of games and you pick one. What do you expect it to shock you when you try to join a game with someone you dislike? As far as i know it only works in matchmaking. Besides it REDUCES the chance it does not ban them completely.

3. System is abused by it's own users, and people who do actually violate the rules hardly ever get punished.

Prove it. Oh wait, mindless fanboy opinion. Still, at least it's in place unlike PSN.

4. MSN? completely useless and uncomfortable especially using a control pad...or you could pay an extra $35 for the keypad. :|. Besides, it's completely drawved by Sony's full internet browser.

How is it completely useless? You use it to talk to your friends, that's useful. 8-) Oh and control pad? Naa, i bought a cheap £3 keyboard it works fine. I'll grant you the browser but as every PS3 user on here likes to believe they have super computers that can run X360 games, i too have a super computer right by me that i can use to browse the internet with so your point is invalid.

5-6. Are both complete Bull, how many games have you actually played that pair you evenly. I know the big games like CoD4, Vegas, Vegas 2, and Gears do not. I believe Halo does, but it's matchmaking is more based on your in game ranking.

5-6 are complete bull *IN YOUR FANBOYISH OPINION* COD4 does, vegas doesn't, gears doesn't (those two are because it wasn't set up when they came out, i do believe..could be wrong there.) vegas 2 i dunno. Gears 2 will have it, over 100 games have it (go check that if you like) fact is it's in use and it's yet another feature PSN does not have, yet another advantage.

7-8. That's absolutely useless, and I can't believe it's actually being used as a plus for xbl. Major Nelson are Trixie are both very annoying as well.

No it's not, again, opinion. I find it very informative and it's nice to get it all bundled in at once over having to check 3-5 different blogs.

Point 9-10 aren't even worth replying to.

Why I'm bothering with this i don't know cauise you're just another mindless fanboy trying to justifiy his blu-ray player. Righto read the bold.

Good day sir.

"Ok, I'll give you that...MS does have better Movie/Tv support right now. But if I really wanted to, I could go onto the PS3's web browser and watch a lot of free legal movies and go to youtube to see Tv shows.

You did for now(the maps are over a year old), when Gears 2 gets new maps you'll have to pay.

Still wouldn't be exclusive and the Fallout 3 content is coming to PC...already confirmed"

I messed upp the Quote.

WHat you are doing now is you are turning it into PC online vs XBOX Live.

You talked aboute PSN vs xboxlive and you wont see no Fallout or GTA4 contentent on PSN.

I can too go to my PCs web browser and watch a lot of free legal movies and go to youtube to see Tv shows.

Also when XBL gets Netflix that would be a major plus for having a Gold Account.

senses_fail_06

They ended up being free later on, after about 6 months or so and yea 360 does have better movies.

But they did become free. The Resistance maps still cost money and I think they been out for over 6 months.

The only problem with trading your account infromation to get free games is you are trading your account infromation. Giving away your personal infromation is never a good idea.

Chaos_HL21
Sony sends you an email everytime you change your password and you can accept the change or deny it. I wouldn't trade my account if I had money in the wallet or something.

Ohhh lol, I've done that with friends. I gave a friend of mine SSHD, btw why cant you do it with Warhawk? As my friend has been asking me for quite a time and I always forget to give it to him (I change my passwords everytime I give him a game lol)

ChrnoTrigger
You know what, I never did find out why Warhawk was blocked, I know GT: 5 Prolouge isn't...and it's teh same price.

[QUOTE="senses_fail_06"]I mentioned what it has better in the first post. -DrRobotnik-

How exactly can you customize themes on XBL and no, XBL messenger is inferior not only in it's presentation but the keypad makes it a hassle. What XBL game uses dedicated servers?

Konami messed up, oh well. I don't think any other game does this.

Being able to upload and share them would be incorporated as part of PSN. Just as much as MSN on XBL.

I have to say the XMB is very slick, the PSN store is much better than marketplace (content is a different issue).

It all feels sharper and faster, and looks far better - The dashboard and marketplace navigation feels clunkly and crumbsome (too text based).

However the whole Konami online thing is a travestly. Everything done through PSN is fine, that isnt, even if mgo itself is good.

Nothing justifies paying the price of a new game to be allowed to play games you already own online for a year. Nothing at all.

You get the picture you want as a theme, put it on a memory stick and transfer it to the 360 HDD. And sharing themes is all done through the web browser. Its not a feature of PSN.

Im not sure of all the games, but i know Battlefield 2 and Frontlines: Fuel of War both make use of dedicated servers.

And yeah, Konami messed up. But my point was that on XBL, this isnt possible. Game devs wouldnt be allowed to make users register a new gamertag. They wouldnt be allowed to make use of a separate friends list.

I get a feeling Konami put a gun to Sonys head in this regard, as this was one of the dealings in order for Sony to secure mgs4 as an exclusive - in order for Konami to have total control over the online components of their games, outside Sony's jurisdiction (all profits go back to Konami).

[QUOTE="ChrnoTrigger"]How do you share your PSN games with friends? o_Osenses_fail_06
You can trade account information with them if you do it over the internet...oh and it is legal. I believe you can probably put it on a flash drive if you are trading with a neighbor or something.

And of course, thereby handing over access to your account, which is linked to your credit card. At that point, they won't need to trade for DLC, because they can just buy whatever they want on PSN and you get the bill. Any other brilliant ideas, professor?

Actually I think you can remove your account from a friends PS3.

And this isnt exactly a practice that is encouraged by Sony either.... its not exactly... legal.

If you're seriously hell-bent on using the free excuse, I will too with Xbox Live. I'll just create a new XBL account every month and receive a free one month - and bingo, free online. And if anyone cannot truly afford that $50, they'll go through that 4 minute hassle if you don't want to spend 50 USD.Stevo_the_gamer

unfortunately there's only 3 trial accounts per console

True, thats an advantage of PSN i guess. I bought Pixeljunk Monsters, and immediately after removed my credit card details at the click of a button or two. With XBL, i have two credit cards stored on that and theres no way to remove the information. I had to ring up M$ and tell them i thought my account was at risk before they said they would do it. And even then, it took around 14 days for the info to be taken off.

So, in the end, TC can't provide ANY facts to back up his opinions, just the usual fanboy drivel and name calling.

Actually I think it takes 30 or 90 days for all your imformation to be removed from their databases.

I rember reading an article about it on the Consumerist a while back - the whole long winded process.

One reason why its a much better idea to buy those pre paid cards.

I have both PSN and Live, and I prefer Live over PSN. You have to be a fanboy to even think PSN bests Live in online services.

One of the most important thing for online is communication and Live has the best. Yeah you can commuincate on PSN also, but that's like 10%.

Too bad Sony can't seem to make good updates.

Remember the 2.40 that was hyped to the heavens as the Xbox live killer? We all know how that ended up.

senses_fail_06
It was the xbox live killer in a sense...because it took the essentials such as IG XMB and added them with the great features it already had all while keeping it 100% free.

You claim to have a X360 yet you don't know that XBL silver users don't pay a dime to get updates. :|

Hmmm... I can create custom backgrounds with no problem really. Every single Arcade game automatically comes with a demo day 1 of release.

It's great the PSN has in-game chat, but what about cross-game chat? What about the cross-game invites? Why doesn't the in-game XMB work in ALL games?

I mean... I don't want go through a whole laundry list, but I prefer XBL over PSN simply because it just seems more well thought out.

if you don't like paying and don't need all those online features then the ps3 wins.if you can give up 50 dollars a year for online and some extra features then the 360 is for you.

No, it just means people with lower end connection can't ruin the experience for those with higher end connection( if the low-end users are hosting)

Here's just a couple of questions for you to answer and depending on your answer it can give some kind of credibility to your entire post. Do you have an Xbox 360? Do you have Xbox LIVE gold? Simple questions should equal simple answers.
