I'm also wondering that. I find this game solid and it's really easy to get into. The only thing that pisses me off is this vampire curse I got. I die if I stay in the sun for 10 seconds.
P.S.: I love the voice acting in the game. I use them in real life conversations. :-)
Apparently its a bad Elder Scrolls game, but not a bad game. Oblivion was my first taste of the ES universe, and I loved it.
I love it too. People are just angry it didn't live up to their expectations.locopatho
I dunno, pretty much everyone liked it. There will always be a few rotten fungus who bash the game.
Dude, before I submit this message we both have 3215 posts. And Im almost lvl 27. >_>

A vampire bit me while I was asleep and I turned into one. That was one pain in the a$$. I spent at least 4-6 hours completing the quest to get rid of being a vampire. It was kinda fun and I love how the game surprises you like that.
I know alot of people hate it (the hate seems to have increased since the whole anti-Fallout 3 fiasco, like hating Bethesda is the new trend to jump upon in gaming), but I thought it was a great game, I spent many hours enjoying it!ONLYDOD
I'm gonna put 100 hours into Fallout 3 as well :)

Not if the game pulls a flop. :D

Even if the game gets a 3.0 I'm still gonna put 100 hours into it. Fallout is one of favorite series and I know Bethesda can pull it off. I've seen the new videos of Fallout 3 and I was so excitied.

Heh, I can see myself doing the exact same thing, even with all the great games coming out, it will be quite easy for Fallout 3 to consume most of my time, everything else will probably just have 1 hour slots in my gaming schedule here and there.

If you contract the disease you can just go to the chuch alter to clear it up before you turn into a vampire. Its a good game overall I'm sure to most people
Me personally
-The story sucks
-The combat sucks
-The game is big for the sake of being big
-The game lacks the depth of Marrowind
-THe overall experience is boring
I mean Robbie has that whole article on why it fails as an RPG. which is all anyone needs to mention really
But overall the game just bored me.jg4xchamp
Let me respond to this:
-The story sucks I couldn't give a rat a$$ about the story. I like the game for it's exploration and freedom
-The combat sucks It's not the greatest combat. It reminds me a lot of Diablo 2 just in 3D.
-The game is big for the sake of being big I like it big. There is so much to do
-The game lacks the depth of Marrowind If you mean story wise then I don't care to much
-THe overall experience is boring I find it to be fun and as I stated a lot I like it for it's freedom and exploration.
That's just my reasoning. I'm not trying to argue with you or anything I just wanted to let you know how I see the game.

It was bad because it lacked the depth of the previous ElderScrolls games.
Level scaling sucked, why even have levels at all it you're just going to arbitrarily level up all other enemies as well. The world was basically one big forest with the same dungeons layered throughout. It lacked Morrowind's diverse landscapes and took away a lot of the enjoyment from exploring a huge gameworld. The sidequests were rather shallow with no impact on the main storyline. At least have the major guild questlines impact the world some way.
I was dissapointed by the game because it was a huge step backwards for the series with too many missed opportunities to be something amazing.

Its safe to say that Oblivion is not as bad of a game as Too Human is.
Please don't turn this thread into another pointless argumental thread.

Oh cool. I was fighting one and suddenly it said I had contracted the disease. It's right up there with hating Halo 3 and Bioshock...

FOr you maybe. The game is great. I admit if you play it today it feels a bit bland and empty. Basically it's not a game that ages well but when it came out 2 and a half years ago (amazing that people still argue over it) it was an amazing game.
Bitter hermits will come in and say it's not a true RPG blah blah but then again they think every RPG made today is not a true RPG so if they're to be trusted RPG's are dead.
Lets put it this way, it not a bad game, its just not a great game, especially for an Elder Scrolls game. Repetive is one of major flaws, as well some other things.
I love it too. People are just angry it didn't live up to their expectations.locopatho
My expectations or the expectations laid down by the likes of Fallout and Baldur's Gate?
I don't know, it just wasn't as good as the reviews said.Wasdie
It was my biggest disappointment in recent gaming. I was so hyped for it, its not even funny. I bought it for PC, but for some reason my graphic card at the time didnt have the right shaders so it wouldnt play. So later I got it on 360, and the PC version as the collector's edition, that how big I was on it. So I finally play it, and after a bit of time through it, It was appearant that this game was not what I was expecting.
-Third person view was bad
-AI was buggy
-AI interaction was not as interesting as other games
-A warrior in mages guild, yes that makes perfect sense
-5 voice actors in the entire game
-Quest Bugs
-Dark Botherhood could have been darker
-Theive is not interesting as the only way in the house is through the door, cant pull a santa claus
-the guard AI was hilarious
-Only 2 types of Dungeons, either a cave or ruins
-item bugs
-Quests were very linear, basically get to point A to B, kill some guy or get some item
Because it's a HORRIBLE role-playing game, yet people often call it as "the best RPG ever made"

Oblivion is not a RPG. It's a sandbox hack-n-slash with skills/stats.

Once again, this review stands firm and tall. All those that just think it's hermits/people on a Bethesda-hating bandwagon still have not been able to rebut this review in any way.
