Meanwhile, the PS3 sales only went up by less than 20% from the week before.
What a lot of folks don't realize is that, the 360 is doing far better in relation to the PS3 in Japan than the original XBOX did as compared to the PS2.
Compare this week's 360 versus PS3 ratio to the PS2 versus orginal XBOX back in the same June in 2003: The same exact time the xbox launched in japan and same months went by as the 360 had to sell(xbox launched there well after the U.S. launch in nov 2001

The PS2 used to outsell the XBOX by to the tune of over FOURTY times every week. Heck, even the Gamecude used to outsell the XBOX by over 10 times per week. And in many weeks, the original XBOX sold less than 300 units. So far this year, the 360 hasn't even gone below 2000 in weekly sales.
No one is talking about PS3 outselling the 360 by fourty times in Japan today. That's progress.
Still a long way to go in Japan for the 360 though.
