I went to the PS3 store just now to check out the downloadable games. Well, it turns out you can't try these games before you buy them, while on the 360 you can try every game out! Some may say big deal, but I can't tell you how many times I've made my purchasing decision based on the trail.

I'm happy to pay for the Xbox Live fee after using PSN. This can all change with the 2.4 update, but as of right now, Xbox Live is better.

I don't know why it appeals to me so much but I like Inside Xbox. Some of the stuff they post in it is quite interesting.

I think your $50 contribute to that tria, still good though.

You're probably right, and that's one of the features that makes it worth the dough. It's a shame because I went on the PlayStation Store with the intent of buying a game, but I couldn't try any out so I didn't get anything.

I pay for live too and I agree with you they should add at least a 10-15 minute trial in PSN, thats why I wouldn't buy a game unless I was familiar with it like Crash bandicoot

Which ones have demos? I just got done scouring the PS3 games section of the store and didn't see any with a demo. The best it offered was a little preview window with a video of the game.

Not just one, not just a couple, not just some, but every XBL Arcade game has a free trial. Try before you buy. I love it.

Also I like this little feature where you can be signed online but you can set it so you'll be "Offline" and invisible to your friends. You can't do that with PSN. So if you're signed on PSN and you happen to be playing a game like Lair or Haze, your friend might sign on, see what you're playing, and clown you and say that you have a bad taste in games.

Also it's nice to view what other games your friend has played. Actually it doesn't have to be people on your list, it can be anyone. You can view anyone's last played games and when they played them. So if anyone claiming that they have a game that's not released yet, you can simply look at their recent played games and achievements.

And the amazing thing is, these features are available for free Silver accounts and Gold.

Xbox Live is an excellently set up distribution and online gaming system. Easy to use, friendly as well. PSN isn't too far off now that the PS Store isn't so clunky. Each system has it's ups and downs. While I like Live's integration with the rest of the system's functions on the 360, I do also like the seperation provided by the PSN and the PS3 itself. They are two parts, not a single unity.

Yeah, I actually like that more too. Like, I don't have to go to the store and have ads shoved down my throat if I don't want to.

XBL is good because we pay for it, Sony is going to have to start charging for PSN soon as they see its going to cost them a lot to keep it free.

Not only you can trial every XBLA game, you can always preview every movie and tv show provided.

I remember having a PS2, and I was set playing these demo disc for a long time. So I can imagine some with an Xbox 360, having fun for ages just playing these XBLA game trials. And the best part is you don't even have to pay for Gold, it's available for Silver.

I would rather have free online play then be able to try every arcade game.

That's fine, but for someone who likes the downloadable games, the trials are a pretty big deal.

waiting for the description to scroll is getting annoying on XBL, cant they just make the text smaller?

checking downloads by games you have played is nice though.

btw... is all the movies on XBL 720?

No, they're not.

I just looked through there yesterday and like the last 10 showed 720. I can look again, was I missing something?

I was just wondering for people who do DL movies from there, I don't think I ever will.
