Green Man Gaming has released the PC requirements. Yet Sega still hasn't confirmed the existence of a PC version.

Link

Minimum Requirements
Microsoft Windows 7/Vista/XP Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200 (2x2.0GHz) or AMD equivalent 2GB RAM (Windows 7/XP)/3GB RAM (Windows Vista) NVIDIA GeForce 8800 / ATI Radeon HD 2900 11 GB free hard drive space

Recommended Requirements
Microsoft Windows 7 Intel Core i5 @ 2.66 GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3.0 GHz 3GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850 11 GB free hard drive space

I can't wait to see Generations maxed out... that's if the PC version is real...

New screens!

Those are some insane requirements for what looks like a last gen game.

I think the 3DS version will be the best. Not because of graphics but because it'll have totally different levels that seem more like the old Sonic games on the Mega Drive.

Still the console version will look on-par but run on much weaker hardware.

I'll pre-order it the last day or second to last day before release. I want to see if Steam will have any bundles.

like I said before The Hedgehog engine that runs the graphics of this game is a work of art and entirely under looked. The reason why it can pull almost on par graphics with the PC version is because unlike most other engines it does not steal direct power form the 360/PS3 to run. In other words there is plenty of back up power in the 360 so it doesn't fry the system. Other graphic engines require stealing power for the system its being played on. This is more like the Hedgehog Engine 2.0 though...Unleashed look great, but wow this is taking cartoonish graphics to the next level. Thats almost Pixtar Quality.

I can run it on minimum. I know I am getting the 3DS version. Now to decide whether to get the PS3 version or build a better PC to max this out (also for maxing Shogun II and Witcher 2, so I wouldn't be building a new machine just for Sonic).

Arach666

It's the regular price as any new game. $60 US in comparison to what it usually is in €'s, so it's pretty much a 50% discount, 50+% if you go with GMG's deal.

Probably will look the same except with more anti-aliasing. I don't expect developers for a Sonic game to go too out of their way to port it to PC.

Also i don't trust Green Man Gaming ever since they lied about the PC version of Arkham City saying it wouldn't have Windows Live attached to it.

Mystic-G

Green Man Gaming forward information they are provided with; on multiple occasions publishers have forwarded erroneous information to them. If they are misinformed you end up misinformed too. GfWL hate is exaggerated and not significant enough to risk lying about for a few extra sales (especially since GMG lets you easily cancel a pre-purchase before the release date).

At least GMG does their best to report on DRM as soon as possible; Steam regularly doesn't list the DRM until ages after the release date, which has led to many nasty surprises for early buyers (e.g. Risen, which on Steam requires online activation and has an activation limit; the retail version used a simple disc check so nobody expected the harsher DRM on Steam).

There's also a huge difference between being mistaken about the specific third-party client a game uses and a game not existing at all.

That about sums up how I felt when I looked at the recommended specs, then looked at the screenshot. Unless this max settings look like Crysis mods then I would be slightly concerned.

Colours was a step in the right direction and easily the best Sonic game since SA2. If they can improve on it that would be great but I don't have high hopes.

11GB... Argh. Why're games getting big? (At least it's not as big as Rage. **shudder**) I assumed a game like this would be around 5 to 6GB at best. But noooo... With DD being the only way for me to buy games, this is seriously problematic.

Anyway, the rest of specs are like the norm these days, so no probs there.
