Sonic is the Coolest and most Underatted Character this Gen

He's got a good voice actor and a great personallity, unlike most main characters who try to act tough. If Sonic ever vs.ed any of the characters he'd beat them, and if gamespot wasn't biased sonic would have gotten a better score.

They need to start putting him in some good games.

Mario has been in more games than the average human can count, but the difference is most (not all, but a majority) of the games he has been in have been AA and AAA.

However, he seems to be making a comeback with SSBB, Sega Superstar tennis, and Sonic RPG on DS. And with a probable sequel to the promissing Sonic and the secret rings on Wii, I can see Sonic becoming the mascot he once was.

Yeah, nintendo has been wise with it's choice of limited to no Voice for it's mascots. Mario's "yahoos" are exceptable, but I don't think I can handle a talking Link or Samus.

It was good, but not quite there yet. It certainly shows that people can make a Sonic game in 3D.

Make it Sonic only (at most Tales and Knuckles)

make it fast with little to no slow down

make levels sprawling with several intersecting routes

bring back the "attitude" of the Genesis sonic

Are you talking about the Sonic game on 360/PS3? Because it 100%, in my opinion, deserved that score. I've grown up with Sonic and all his good and bad games, and the "next-gen" Sonic game is absolutely inexcusible for what it turned into.

basicly everything secret rings did?, the only thing i could think of would be to ditch that god awful RPG system and lose the arabian theme

Sonic is the coolest character but the problem is the concept has always transcended the limitations of video game form. You never want to slow down with him but if you don't then you basically sit there watching him roll.

Even his best games didn't seem quite "right" but every one of them has managed a few brilliant moments. Even the terrible one for 360 and PS3.

Not only is Sonic and the Secret Rings pretty good but what about the sonic rush games?

GameSpot gave Sonic and the Secret Rings .5 points above average (7.6) It averaged a 7.1.

He does still have some good 2D games that come out for the DS every now and then, like Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure. It's just his 3D adventures... suck.

I stopped thinking Sonic was "cool" when i turned 14... I'm not hating on him... just saying, he fails at being cool. and FYI, I was a big Sonic fan during the Genesis days... and I thought the first Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast was alright too.... I have Sonic: RUSH for the DS... and its an alright game....

It's turn based combat, so you may aswell call it a JRPG :P I know it's being made by bioware. But it still wont help Sonic even if it turns out to be an amazing RPG, sonic will always be known for his long list of lackluster games. He's a joke now and so is Sega. They should just give up. I'm suprised there still even around, what the hell are they making money off.

Sonic is one of the worst furries I've ever seen. Sure, I liked playing his games back in the day. But when Sega tried to develop him as a chacter, everything went down hill.

I would say he's one of the lamest things ever to have his own video game.

And did I mention that fanboys are horrible? Most of them are too busy fapping to sonic porn to even bother playing the games and pretty much ALL they talk about is Sonic. (I'm not making a generilzation, this is just the vibes I've gotten from my past experince).

Didn't Sega do Condemned though? That game was surprisingly good.

By all the God's and deified beings present in any and all religions, I hope not!

They have tried that already, I don't know if pushing this particular direction even more would be a good thing. Gone are the good old days where Robotnik would just steal the freaking emeralds and that was the extent of it. Now, we have an hedgehog falling in love with a princess... I think?... just the fact that I didn't get to finish a main Sonic game to find the answer to that question, makes me realize that there was a time when I couldn't even think of not finishing a main sonic game.
