Wow. Even score worse than Sonic 2006. I am actually a little surprise.

[QUOTE="DeathScape666"]Can we all agree to never hype another Sonic game again? Yes?CuDDKiDD
Sonic and The Black Knight GOTY 09. Quote me on that :P
I know all the other ones were terrible and below average, but this one looks so awesome! :lol:Lol at anyone calling out IGN for a bad review, or any of the sites that told it how it is, the formula for fail, is short speed stages, and even those have minor flaws, horrible werehog night levels where your as slow as can be, and even slower town exploration levels..
How did they think any of this was a good idea? Heres a solution if you really want a werehog: Just make speed levels at night, with new elements like bars and such that the werehog can grab onto with his long arms, you keep the speed, you keep the stupid werehog, and you have a potentially good game, a 10 year old could give better suggestions, but I think IGN nailed it: Someone at Sega is doing this on purpose.

The speed stages are so incredibly short because you are zipping through them all. Imagine if they made a fifteen hour Sonic game with all speed stages. That'd take them a damn long time.Lol at anyone calling out IGN for a bad review, or any of the sites that told it how it is, the formula for fail, is short speed stages, and even those have minor flaws, horrible werehog night levels where your as slow as can be, and even slower town exploration levels..

Yes, obviously, but, the point is, the only good part of the game is so short, so the really slow and awful parts are more evident, if they took alll that time from the werehog and town stages, and put it into new and more speed stages, i guarantee it would have probably got at least a 7.5, they could have also have had more time to keep the speed stages fresh so someone doesn't think their just running through similar enviornments all the time.[QUOTE="rockguy92"]Why don't they just make a 2-D one?TenPAn HD 2D Sonic game... *creams jeans*
Sonic 1 & 2 are on Arcade in HD w/ an option to smooth out the visuals. You're better off just getting those than waiting for a new one.
"Almost nothing else in this game even reaches the level of mediocrity."
Ouch.

"Every new Sonic release carries a hope that Sega's blue hedgehog will be able to regain the form that made him a star in the early '90s. And most every venture into the third dimension has resulted in various degrees of failure."
This series has turned into on the biggest disappointing free falls in the history of the industry.

True, but one with LBP-ish graphics would be incredible. Do want!
Yeah Little Big Planet, Super Paper Mario, Wario Land Shake, and Braid have shown people the 2D games are still good and can be complex. So many games were SO perfect in 2D form that when they made the leap to 3D it kind of ruined what I thought was so awesome.
Sonic, Mario, Metroid, Zelda, and Donkey Kong were leagues better in the 2D days than they are today. I'm seriously thinking of just going back to old games and stop bothering with the new ones...

I already have Mega Collection Plus. I would just like a new 2-D one.The game had flaws like the speed sections were over to quickly, the werehog gameplay was boring and pointless and to long and the cut scenes couldn't be skipped. I found it very dissapointing because I thought it was gonna be a return to form but it does show that Sonic games now are just awful.
I aren't even gonna get the next Sonic game.
Wow, where did that come from? I have the Wii version, so I don't know how different it is, but it's amazing. But I also heard that the 360/PS3 version is superior... Whatever, I don't care what GS gives it. It's one of my favourite games to come out in a while.
Edit: They didn't even mention the fantastic soundtrack of the game.
Btw, I'd just like to point out that Sonic Unleashed is awesome, that is all.BioShockOwnzThere seems to be a mixed reaction in that sense. A lot of series fans seem to love it, but game reviewers have resoundingly told us that it's terrible. A 4 from EG, 4.5 from IGN, and now a 3.5 from GS. Not having played the game, I'm not sure where I should stand, but those reviews are pretty damning, and I haven't particularly liked previous 3D Sonics...

It's amazing to see how far the series has fallen. I mean in the 2D days Sonic was rivalling Mario but you look at him now. 3D Sonic is along way behind 3D Mario games.chocolate1325When Carnival Games, the new Spyro, Lair, HAZE, Ninety-Nine Nights, and Hello Kitty Island Adventure (By two times the amount!) outscores the new Sonic ame, you know it's bad.

Yeah, I'm not going to say it's a near flawless experience. It has some issues like the camera can get wacky during Werehog gameplay, and there is some framerate issues during Werehog gameplay at times, but nothing serious. This game is a lot more polished and better than Sonic '06, so I'm just stunned that some reviewers are giving it lower scores. Every Hedgehog level in this game has FAR better level design than Sonic '06. You don't die because of crappy level design in this. And also, Sonic '06 had so many glitches. It just doesn't compare. Unleashed is very solid, even if the Werehog doesn't do it for you.
