[QUOTE="too_much_eslim"]Hey blitzkid doesn't this game remind you of Blue Dragon in terms of its scenery grraphic wise. blitzkid1
it does doesnt it, smexy.
Yeah didn't think I see another game with that type of scenery.I was happy for the first 2 pictures i thought it was going to be played like a 2d game oh wellmurat8
for a big part it will i believe.
The trees look terrible and the wall textures... >__> I hope they don't screw this one up.Cedmln
Oh yes because those are things you'll notice when your travelling at speed.
not impressive from a technogicall point of view.. but it looks just right. they finally nailed the look.Always-HonestI believe it's being built from the ground up for the Wii then ported to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Wii? :|thronesThen ported to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, or so I read. Just like PSU, all they do is blow it up to 720, pretty up the textures a little and maybe add AA.
After Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games sold 5 million copies, Sega have fallen in love with the Wii. Now they don't have to try that hard and can still rack in the cash. (Not that Sonic team have been doing anything special in the past few years)

but it doesn't have to impress me more, because i think it' just right.
but with impressive i mean lighting like in Killzone2, textures like in Gears 2, that sort of stuff.

It's a nice change to see the Wii as the lead platform for a multiplat.
Honestly, I don't know why Sega even bothers with the other consoles.
Condemned, Virtua Fighter, that Viking game and that other Sonic game--all of them sold like crap. It wouldn't surprise me if Mario and Sonic Olympics outsold all of their HD games combined :?
Secret Rings also shipped over a million (I think I read it somewhere...)
Well all i know is Sonic 2 > Any other sonic game since then and most likely any new sonic gameangelkimneHmmm... I disagree. Sonic 3 + sonic and Knuckles = the best Sonic game ever in my book. Although I agree that Sonic 2 was the best stand-alone Sonic game.

I think it looks fine as it is we don't need gears of war, killzone type graphics in this.
Though, as big of a sonic fan I am I still not going to hype it until it comes out because they've screwed up pretty much every recent sonic game that came out with the exception of the rush series.

It's going to take more than side scrolling and speed to save Sonic. I want intelligent level deisign. I want complexity in the leveles. I want to play through without going the same way every time. I want intelligent level bosses. I want insane difficulty, and I want them to be memorable. I want a lot more than ten levels (seems like a standard in games today).
But I knwo they are going to butcher this game, because they're alreayd talking about how this game needs to be linear for Sonic's speed. :| I don't play the genesis orignals for speed. I like the level design. I like the complexity. I know that, of course, like all these devs do, they just LOVE linearity.

sonic3 and knuckles>sonic cd imo
But sonic cd was way underated, it felt so dark compared to other old sonics.....

Well what do you mean? Do you mean that it is the best game or the best stand-alone game or best game all together? I only played Sonic CD about a month ago for the first time (sonic gems collection), and when playing it I thought that it was good, possibly even on par with sonic 2, but not as good as Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I thought it had great gameplay mechanics (super peel-out, charge-up spin, the fact that the sonic shifted from the center of the screen to the back when he was charging those things up so you could see more in front of you) but I just thought that the level design wasn't that great. It felt like they were just putting too much energy into the past present future thing, and even then they didn't quite nail it.
Sonic 2 was the best. Stand alone and combined. Sonic 2 was the best. organic_machine
Ok, we should stop this I think _____ game is the best. No I think _____ game is the best arguement. We should start using actual reasons why we think so. I'll give my reasons in my next post.
i shail wait for the final verdict before i buy >.>
probably end up getting the 360 AND Wii versions as the wii version is different, but i have high hopes for this game

Ok the reason that I think Sonic 3 and Knuckles is better than Sonic 2 is the fact that it retains all of the great qualities of Sonic 2 while adding a whole lot to the mix. It brings in a save feature, a Tails and Knuckles as playable characters by themselves, they made co-op more fun by allowing tails to fly on command and allow him to pick up Sonic while flying, more power-ups, a special stage zone that was both challenging and fun, having a boss on zone 2 then fighting Robotnick on stage 3, and collecting chaos emeralds in the first part of the game, then trading them in to get the super emeralds in the second half (it added more special stages and kept players from playing the rest of the game on easy mode with Super Sonic).
It added all these great things while keeping the unchanged things more or less on par with Sonic 2. It still had great level design, (I think it had about the same amount of levels too), great boss battles, and the core gameplay completely intact. I just don't understand how anyone could believe that Sonic 2 > Sonic 3 and Knuckles when you really look at everything, but I would love to hear a rebuttal.

It looks good, but doesn't it look a tad bit uninspired. Remember some of those awesome Genesis levels?

From what I've seen so far the levels look pretty interesting, the only thing that I think is missing is more enemies. What do you see that you don't like?
Sonic DIED after the Genesis era.
They had thier chances with the Dreamcast and they did. But after Sonic Adventure, everything literally went downhill for poor Sonic.

I'm just not digging the plain and uninspired environments. Remember how creative some of the levels were in Sonic 1, 2, and 3?

I remember those Levels, but I also liked some of the levels in Sonic & Knuckles. So hopefully they only showed the worst looking ones and left the really good ones secret, I also liked the Fire and Ice levels in Sonic's 3D Blast.[QUOTE="bobderwood97_1"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]It looks good, but doesn't it look a tad bit uninspired. Remember? I still play them from time to time. I looked back at those photos, and the first ones looked kinda meh because there really wasn't much to see, just sonic and a basically flat environment. The last few looked more interesting though, and going from the level in the leaked video, I thought it had interesting design. Like I said the only real thing that I've seen missing were enemies, but those are always more of a secondary thing anyways. A good level design is always most important while using enemies to further enhance the levels.
