Look spretty, that's for sure. But, we have way too little info to know if this is going to be an impressive game. The stages look like sonic rush's...which could mean overly linear, empty, boring, and no enemies.
Also we haven't seen anything of waresonic...which could easily end up being some slapped on gimmick via simon's quest or PoP3.
Looks good. I like Sonic.
Am I the only one who didnt play Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 but still wants to buy it? Especially at $20? Despite reading all of the terrible reviews?
I'm not even a diehard Sonic fan, lol.
Ok the reason that I think Sonic 3 and Knuckles is better than Sonic 2 is the fact that it retains all of the great qualities of Sonic 2 while adding a whole lot to the mix. It brings in a save feature, a Tails and Knuckles as playable characters by themselves, they made co-op more fun by allowing tails to fly on command and allow him to pick up Sonic while flying, more power-ups, a special stage zone that was both challenging and fun, having a boss on zone 2 then fighting Robotnick on stage 3, and collecting chaos emeralds in the first part of the game, then trading them in to get the super emeralds in the second half (it added more special stages and kept players from playing the rest of the game on easy mode with Super Sonic).
It added all these great things while keeping the unchanged things more or less on par with Sonic 2. It still had great level design, (I think it had about the same amount of levels too), great boss battles, and the core gameplay completely intact. I just don't understand how anyone could believe that Sonic 2 > Sonic 3 and Knuckles when you really look at everything, but I would love to hear a rebuttal.

Before I delve into why I like Sonic 2 better, let me first say your reasons are commendable. It does bring a whole lot new to the table and it does a great job at it.
The reason I like Sonic 2 more is because of the more often more complex level design. Personally, I find, art-wise, the levels in Sonic 2 are much more visually appealing. Not big reasons. But they make a world of difference to me. Although, the save system in Sonic 3 + Knuckles is darn good.
Are we back to hyping Sonic games? How many times does he have to crap on our dreams before we stop caring about him?II_Seraphim_IISonic and the Secret Rings met its hype. Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure exceeded their respective hypes. Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic '06 do no represent the series as a whole.

It's actually a decent game once you adjust to the controls. The problem is the lock-on system. You find yourself flying into oblivion way too many times.
Yeah, it looks like Sonic is back.HaziqonfireSonic has been "back" for awhile. Rush, Rush Adventure, and Secret Rings were all good games.

The game does look good, and the impressions I've read on it from the demo at Sega's gamer day have been pretty positive. Though, I would like to see some of the Sonic the Werehog gameplay, as that's the only suspect thing so far.
On a side note, am I the only one who finds it odd that despite the game being originally designed for the Wii, all the promotional stuff so far (including the demo) have been from the 360/PS3 version. Not really a big deal, just seems odd.

this guy knows what he's talking about. and yeah, i want Unleashed too. a lot of sites are saying really good things about it. i like this pic of it
makes me laugh:P
the story seems good also. Robotnik(god I hope thats his name cuz "Eggman" is dumb) defeating Super Sonic seems intriguing

I sure it well be good,...at least I hope so. Never know with Sega though.
I'm saddened that Tails is not a playble character though...it just seems the poor kid going to fad in the dust. They need a make a game where he goes super again. It been like 17 years since the kid gone to his super form. I was hyped when the dreamcast was coming out thinking I'd get to see my favorite character go super in 3-D and to this day I've not seen it yet...
Still Secert Rings was decent and at least this has Tails in the story. I wonder in the next few years if Tails and Knuckles well even do anything at all. Thak God Bio-Ware making DS game were they are important.

Yeah, that's cool, there's nothing wrong with having a preference. My problem was simply with your wording. In your first post you said that Sonic 2 was better, simply as if it was a matter of fact.
Sonic 2 was the best. Stand alone and combined. Sonic 2 was the best. organic_machineIn your second post though you cleared it up by saying that you like Sonic 2 better, which makes things completely different.
[QUOTE="Always-Honest"]not impressive from a technogicall point of view.. but it looks just right. they finally nailed the look.BreakingPoint8I believe it's being built from the ground up for the Wii then ported to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
The textures are meh, but I love how smooth the game's apperance is. Overall, not a technical masterpiece, but still amazing just for that.

I was hoping you wouldn't bring my first post up...
