It lived up to the hyped. It tackled the DS head on and got 1/3 of the market. Nintendo got owned.

The DS has sold almost twice the amount the PSP has. Sony is the one who has been owned.

And for the record, the PSP was hyped to destroy the DS.

The PSP in your own words is a Jack of all trades. Thats why it fails. Jack of all trades never excel in one thing and only do the others mediocre. PSP is a jack of all trades released in a VIDEO GAME market. doesnt take a rocket scientist to see why it fails

hmmmm they won two console wars so far. i don't think thats enough to say they always have their way. especially since they're losing this one so miserably. also you mention the PSP there, which is funny, since they certainly aren't having their way with that at all.

no they dont. betamax was a disaster. UMD movies are also a joke. theres also very very little chance of the PSP catching up to and beating the DS. PS3 isnt exactly firing up the market either.

with regards to PSP....it is the most successful non ninty handheld ever which sony should get kudos for. however it was supposed to remove nitnendo from their handheld throne just like PS1 did to the N64. many laughed at the fact that DS used carts and saw this as a very bad sign. needless to say nintendo are far from dethroned in the handheld market. the gap between the 2 platforms is going to continue to widen. at the mo ninty have around 66% of the market. chances are by 2010 itll be somewhere near 80% which is market dominance. as for which one is better? well that comes down to opinion really.

Spooky... but unless Sony is planning to hold a gun to my head, they're not going to make me spend my money on their PS3 this fall over an Xbox 360. Too Human, Halo 3, Bioshock, and Blue Dragon aren't magically going to become 360 titles, so that's where my loyalty lies.

First off, yay subrosian!

Secondly, Sony has basically given this generation away becuase of thier arrogant mindedness. If they realized that the consumers aren't ready for Blu Ray and a freaking $600 system, maybe they would still be at the top. Developers want people to play thier games, so they're obviously gravitating towards the Wii and 360. Which leaves the PS3 with shoddy ports, a few good exclusives, and oh yeah...
