[QUOTE="knight-k"][QUOTE="superjim42"] can st1ka and kinght-k shush now. this thread is not for silly cheap dissing of eachother and eachothers opinions.
this thread is about innovative games this gen.
st1ka do you agree that sony has so far done the best job of giving us innovative games this gen?
if not why? and who has?
st1ka
Now really I want to know what st1ka thinks about MS and innovation...
(lol if he says viva pinata)
xbox live was pretty inovative as well as its improvements over previous online itterations
Exactly. Innovation from MS doesn't lie directly in the games, but in developing an innovatiive infrastructure that affects all games that are played on the platform.
To expand on the example St1ka gave, we have all of the functionality in the 360 dashboard. It really is a vast improvement on last gen's traditional options menus when a console is booted without a game.
Then we have the mandatory achievements that are tracked by MS, and shareable on forums, blogs, websites, etc.
With the 360, there's a large focus on community. They have very visible and accessible community managers/personalites. From what I've see, no other platform holder is as plugged into their community as the 360 is. There's also the Community Calendar and Community Developer Program. And functionally, everything is very well thought out and connected. Your MS passport account gives you access to Xbox Live, MSN Messenger, MSN Spaces, and the Xbox website, where you have a full profile page.
So there you go. What MS brings to the table is their holistic approach to gaming. The gaming experience exists when you turn on the console. But it also exists before and after you play your games.
