What could Sony or Microsoft possibly do or announce that would touch Nintendo's presentation of a new console.

Kinect and Move have been out for over 6 months, and i just don't think new game announcements are going to impress the crowds as much as Nintendo strutting there stuff with there new console and new 3DS game announcements.

I honestly think Microsoft and Sony already lost this years E3 to Nintendo.

Games. Hardware is only a means to an end. That end being great games, which doesn't require new hardware. If Sony or MS have the better games they will win.

Well, Sony pretty much has it in the bag with all the exclusives this year, more to be shown at E3.

This. Just because Wii announces a new console doesnt mean that every PS3/360 will dissapear.

Depends just how interesting the new console looks. If it's for example JUST as strong as a 360/PS3, then MS/Sony won't have to do too much to beat it.

Yeah I'm thinking this. If Sony and MS have a ton of great games that we'll be playing later this year, while Nintendo is on about stuff we won't get til 2012, then Sony and MS will win. Imo.

Let's wait and see before declaring a winner.

In my opinion, Games > Consoles. You can announce a new console, but with no games to go with it and an abysmal lineup for the Wii it could turn out to be a lackluster E3 for Nintendo.

Unless they show off HD Zelda or something, I don't quite much care about nintendo's coming into the current-gen.. care more about the NGP at this point.

Soo... Is Nintendo's new console targeted at casual to pro gamers, or 5 year olds to casual gamers, like their current one? C_Rule

Here are some interesting points posted in the sticky:

- 3rd Parties were involved with the development of the console, with requests for what specifications they'd like to see. As of now (which could change) the system runs of a custom built IBM triple-core CPU and has 2gb RAM. The graphics chip is a custom built Radeon R700 chip.

- It will run natively at 1080p.

- The Project Cafe system development kit is not representative of the final console design. The console is smaller and resembles the Japanese/European SNES models.

- Nintendo have told developers that their online system will be 'the best online experience' that's available on consoles. The whole idea of the machine is to be connected to the internet 24/7. It's being targeted as an online/social console. Friend codes are gone.

- As reported by other sources, Nintendo is targeting this console to the hardcore gamers once again.

- Nintendo is planning on some sophisticated inter-game communication between the 3DS and the console. Nintendo didn't explain what they're planning on.

AmayaPapaya

I hope that at least some of them are true.

What if Nintendos new console reveal is a bit underwhelming? Why does it matter who wins E3? Imagine living in a world where you could buy and enjoy everything all the manufacturers released!!

In a way, Yes, everyone will be talking about the new Nintendo consoles, even if it is bad, the main topic this E3 will be the Super Wii.

MS is the one who should be worried, Nintendo has new Hardware and Sony has tons of games, othern than the usual CoD and GEOW3 what MS will show?

Usually the opposite occurs - Nintendo tends to only show off new games that will be out by the end of the year, while Sony and Microsoft tend to show off games years in advance.

So I don't see that happening.

I feel like sony will sink a submarine or something this e3 i mean seriously look at the line up of games. NGP will be nice to. Ninendo might be on the shy side but if they start feeding people with wii2 information/hype and do some exclusives and 3ds they will be fine. Microsoft will do what? Show some more kintect crap the only thing that will hold them up is Gears of war or something we don't know about. Perhaps Microsoft will ta in some Pc exclusives as backup and do some windows live stuff? Dunno.

I think PS and Nintendo have interesting stuff to show at this E3. Nintendo has a lot to fill always talking about the innovation and being different. The NGP we know a lot of stuff, already. Some of the big games and It's feature. All they can do is present launch date, price and more upcoming titles. Lets see how all this turns out.

But seriously yeah... i think Nintendo will win again because of the wii2 and Sony will get 2nd place because of the ngp... i'm very skeptical for MS but since we have no leaks i don't know what to say about it...

But then again in 2 or 3 years the buzz around ps4/xbox720 will be bigger imo.

Sony ? Oh Please, they can't even keep PSN up and running and you expect them to have a good E3 showing, if i was Sony i would be too humiliated to even show up at E3, there PS3 software gets hacked every other day. If they were as smart as Nintendo they would go back to the drawing board and either reinvent there user interface or just put out a new console altogether with an all new interface and online service. Otherwise this constant hacking will cost them millions.

Slimmin360

All Sony has to do for me is show up and they beat out Nintendo. Seriously, if Nintendo wants my business, they have a lot of changing to do with the types of games they release as well has have a system that is a lot more (not a little more) powerful than the PS3 (if not, then I will be happy to wait for the PS4). So Nintendo has about 2 years after they release their new console before I will even consider paying it any mind to see what type of games it has. The NGP will be at E3 and that owns Nintendo's new console in my book. I only care for E3 for two reasons. I want to know the price and release date of the NGP. Other than that, I couldn't care less what else they show at E3.

As for Microsoft, there isn't anything they can do as I am a PC gamer and with PC and PS3, I get to play 90% of 360 games anyways. Well I guess they could announce a new console, but then they would have to play the two year waiting game with me like Nintendo has too in order to make sure the hardware to their next console isn't crap like this gen (not talking power, talking reliability).

Right now the only thing I care about (besides getting my smartphone) is the NGP.

PC is Pro to Hardcore. :P

I would consider pro as higher on the gaming food chain than hardcore. To me hardcore means you play a LOT and are very serious about your gaming, and a pro is a hardcore gamer that took it to the next level and made it his/her profession and actually does it for a living. Like a game tester or somebody that plays in all types of tournaments for cash.

based on how bad the 3DS launch was I'm not sure I would be really excited for just a new console reveal. Nintendo needs to say that a next gen Zelda and next gen Metroid will ship with it at launch, then I would get excited.

Honestly I don't care about Nintendo, I stopped taking them seriously the day I bought a PS2 (then xbox). For me they'll always be the children's toy whereas Sony and Microsoft are growing and maturing right along with me. Regarding E3...Microsoft already won that earlier this month with the leaked video from Turn 10. Nothing else matter this year. Of course I'm biased toward racing games, but whatever.

Let's face it, new hardware is ALL Ninty can do to make their conferences even remotely interesting. It "won" them E3 last year with the 3DS and it will probably o the same this year with Cafe. But, the GAMES will be at Sony's and possibly Microsofts conference.

Let's face it, new hardware is ALL Ninty can do to make their conferences even remotely interesting. It "won" them E3 last year with the 3DS and it will probably o the same this year with Cafe. But, the GAMES will be at Sony's and possibly Microsofts conference.

Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Legend of Zelda: Skywards Sword.

I'm pretty sure Donkey Kong Returns was released in November of 2010 (or something like that), unless they announced another Donkey Kong game. And those two games? Yawn. I mean, just from what you listed, I know there will be more games.
