Sony and MS appear DESPERATE in their failed attempts to keep up with Nintendo

We're not even 1 year into the console war and Sony is already looking to drop the price of their PS3 by $100 out of sheer desperation and MS is already looking at changing their focus to become more family oriented.... not to mention the fact that both are rumored to be trying to copy Nintendo with motion controls (Sony already did that with sixaxis)....

all you people do is sit around here and diss Nintendo while your hero's (Sony and MS) are just trying to copy Nintendo's methods of success and ride on their coat-tails like pitiful wannabe's

Is this another situation where I have to wait... just like the past 2 Nintendo consoles? The good games were there, but there were spread pretty thin.

I can play Zelda and Warioware only so much. The novelty's worn off. It's been seven months since launch and I need games.

The main problem is, big budget major 3rd party titles that are either exclusive or multiplatform are basically non-existant on the Wii. Chances are, if they did exist you'd probably want to destroy all evidence of that depending on how bad the port is. :p

The real problem too is that big 3rd party developers heavily invested to PS3 and X360 for years (it does not take months to makes games even for a Wii graphics), and counted the Wii out before it was released. Sure, the graphics for Wii is lower, but planning, presentation, design, gameplay is not easily make and it takes at least 1 year or so

I'm glad someone brought that up because it had slipped my mind. Game devs had predicted no one would buy into the wii because of it's..erm uniquness. But now that the wii is outselling both consoles, they are only NOW jumping on the wii bandwagon. Ubi put out some rushed titles like Red Steel and Raving Rabbids.and had later aplogized for their half baked games. They claimed they wanted to be the first to capatlize on the wii's new motion sensing tech, and so rushed games into the market. THey "promised" better gaming for sheep.

All that dosent matter, The 360 has xna which means they have pickings of all the pc games which alot will be good, great and some gems in their thus making the Wiis lineup look second rate always.

I don't care what Sony and MS do, Wii will always be a gimmick with weak graphics and is not next gen.

That's upscaled. You can do the same thing with an Atari 2600 via upscaling and it's no more 1080p than the Wii is. I'm amazed at what I read on this board sometimes.

And if Microsoft or Sony didn't have the annual profits they did I highly doubt they would be selling their consoles for a loss. There is a reason why both Sony and MS are more successful than Nintendo. Not only do they have more products but they have more cut-throat business sense. The Wii is not producing the 1080p rez, it's the reciever upscaling the 480p signal.

Hell I could do the same with a PS1.

No good games?! What are you talking about?! I got My Wii 2 weeks ago, and I have been renting games like crazy. I've played Red Steel, Need for Speed: Carbon, Big Brain Academy, Far Cry, Super Paper Mario, Mario Party 8, Moneky Ball Banana Blitz, Wii Play, etc. I love the controls for driving, and for shooters. Red Steel had some impressive graphics, IMO. Super Paper Mario is just a Gamecube game that was brought to the Wii, much like Zelda, for some easy cash. I actually can't stand the Wii version of Zelda, but I beat the GCN version a long time ago.

I am very happy with the Wii. The controls are awesome, even if they need work in some areas, like Wii Boxing, or the sword fights in Red Steel. It's obvious to everyone that Nintendo has done the best job this time around, and will easily sell the most consoles, followed by sony in a distant 2nd place (if they can take a hint and drop the price of the PS3 around $200.) I don't know why you would complain about the Wii. Online has come out, and Mario Strikers and Metroid Prime 3 should offer great online experiences. Just be patient, and play the games that are already out.

Sony is a very smart company.

I honestly think the Wii and the PS3 are in completely different leagues of one another.. They are so completely different from one another that it will appeal to multiple different groups.. Though I think due to the Wii's price not to mention user friendly control scheme it will attract many people..

Even if the PS3 takes off the Wii wiill still be chugging along because its game play can not be comparable to the PS3 or any other system, while the Xbox360 and PC can be compared to the PS3.

Don't really understand why some don't want to see the PS3 become successful though. Sony having such a strong lineup is only going to make MS and Nintendo work harder to please consumers, which ends up being better for everyone.

You mean that GTAIV will help sell the 360?? The PS3 has no chance against the Wii, and has pretty much already lost the console war before it even started. Did you not hear about all the developers leaving the PS3 for the Wii?? Square Enix has said that they won't make anymore games for the PS3 until more units are sold. If it wasn't for the 360 doing so poorly in Japan, I would expect the PS3 to finish in dead last. I bet the Wii will sell tens of millions of units more than the PS3. How is this winning the console war?! You do know that if Sony drops the price of the PS3 that MS will match it, and that Nintendo will just laugh and continue to outsell the PS3 by huge margins with no price drop on the Wii. Don't take it personally, it's just not Sony's turn to be number one! If they are lucky, they might crawl ahead of MS, but only because of Japan. Second place isn't so bad.

Sorry, chump, but I'm a 31 year old man, and my wife is 27. We play the Wii, not the PS3, and certainly the 360. My only other friend who games is a 30 year old man, and only has the Wii.He has several friends in their 30s who play the Wii. Stop being envious of Nintendo. They make more money than you, are more well known than you, and have better games. Get over it, there's no reason to make comments like the one you just made!
